Hi guys, im currently looking for an --> iGO8.3 POI icon pack

like, lets say i want to see the yellow M icon when i'm close to a McDonalds and stuff like that!

if you guys have a pack of icons for that, please link me to it!

and how to install them too

That icon pack is called the branding.zip ;) isn't it?
If you have solved it, why don't you share how? You are not friendly to our users.

well honestly...

i said solved but, its not quite solved yet...

the pack i got is a branding.zip

but i've unpacked it,

and since i have a skin installed, choup skin,i placed the unpacked files here --> iGO8 --> ui_igo8_da

but hum, it work kinda...

i do get the icons now, like i have McDonalds and some Fuel stations...

but, some icons are not working i dont know...

like, i changed Tim Hortons icon to one i liked...

but, even tho its changed, when i simulate a route to Tim Hortons, i still get the old icon,,,

the circle with a cofee in the middle...

and its supposed to show Tim Hortons icon,,, not that,,,

u know what can be wrong?

hi guys, perhaps you know why

i can have on my map screen the FUEL STATIONS POI's

and i can also have McDONALDS & SUBWAYS, STARBUCK,

but for some evil cyber spirit reasons,

TIM HORTONS POI's dont show up on my map screen!!

but why?

i activated them just like i did to the other POI's...

but that one, TIM HORTONS, just doesnt appear on map screen!!!

Go to iGO 8.3 program. Manage, Poi, Restaurants, Bottom of page is blue picture of fork/spoon, click- on it and find your icon. Then say OK or something like that.

did u download any KML file or you use the default POI database for Tim Hortons?

I did nothing with Tim Horton. That you must figure out for yourself how to get it there if it isn't there already.

it is in there.....

under --> Manage -> Poi --> cofee_bar --> coffee

but after that what do i do??

even if i try to change the default Google Earth Globe icon,

on map screen,

it always the globe that appears and not the icon i choose for it,,,,

I apologize for running out on you before but there was something that I had to take care of. By doing that I gave you half-assed instructions. So:

Open to the menu in iGO 8.3. Go to "manage", then "poi", then "restaurants", then "Tim Horton", then "edit ". At the bottom of that window is a blue fork/knife icon indicating a restaurant. Press that icon and a whole list of icons will appear. Choose the icon for Tim Horton and press OK [if it is there]. From then on, the Tim Horton icon will appear when it sees the restaurant you set up in find POI. Again sorry.

If for some reason Tim Horton is not found under restaurants, keep looking until you find it. It might be in another category.

I don't know Tim Horton, so this may sound stupid: are you sure that the one you are looking for is listed in the POI's? Look for an address nearby (not the address of Tim Horton itself), then search POI near that address. Is that Tim Horton listed?If not, then you have your answer.

oh yeah, TIM HORTONS is kinda like STARBUCK, its a coffee shop :)

when i search for POI's near an adress, it does list TIM HORTONS :)

now my problem is, TIM HORTONS POI's dont show up on my map screen at all...

weird because they are set to appear from FAR in my MANAGE POI setings.......


oh and, thats on iGO8....

when i tried on PRIMO, same thing.... just dont appear on map screen,,,

I am not aware of iGO (unlike TT, at least TTv3 and v5.xx) limits the number of possible POI's to show. Therefor I suggest you try:
1. disable a POI, let's say MacDonalds, and see if Tim Horton now appears
2. disable your skin and see if standard skin solves your problem (maybe the skin does limit)

But honestly, I don't think the solution is there. Because when I merged your related threads, I noticed something: In post #3 you complain you see the old icon and in post #4 you see no icon? You changed the data.zip again? Or what?
I can't possibly say what you did, did not or did wrong. Since you are constantly playing with your device, changing things, etc, you are the most likely cause of your problems. I hope you are very aware of this?

Also, did you try setting setting it to near or close?

ok to answer nabi, all i did was to find a way to "force" the Tim Hortons POI's to show on my map screen...

because using the regular Steps to make them appear, well they dont...

so i went ahead and got a KML file for tim hortons pois from poifriend.com

went on and placed it in --> content/userdata/poi

then booted iGO8

i went in my POI settings, there a saw TIM HORTONS KML

and finally, i activated them so they appear from FAR....

now at this point, they do appear on my map screen!

But problem now is, its not the correct icon...

they appear as the Google Earth's globe....

So, again in the POI settings, went ahead, and changed the icon there...

but even then, its still the Google Earth's globe that appears on my map screen....

So im really really puzzled....
