iGO8 - Shuts down

Thu Sep 22, 2011 5:23 pm

Need Help Please

iGO8..just installed Primo 1.2 with North American maps after starting Primo 1.2 about 15 min later it shuts down when I restart get error message load defaults settings.
How can i fix this

To me, that does not sound like "shutting down", that sounds like "Crash".
Which means Primo is not able to do something that you have it configured to do, on your GPS unit.
Please post your current sys.txt and we'll have a look.
Another possibility are some bad or misconfigured/missing files in your install--where did you get it from?

Oh, and one more thing--how much RAM does your unit have--typically this will be either 64MB or 128MB.

Now wait a minute. You downloaded the program from another place and now you come here for help. Doesn't that strike you as downright wrong!? Perhaps you should post your problem there and ask for their support regarding their program. We will gladly help those members that stick with us all the way.

I agree to that.

NO SUPPORT FOR PROGRAMS YOU GOT ELSEWHERE ! We can not guarantee those programs are any good or worse, contain no malware !

Besides, you posted there first, let them help you.

If you want help, replace what you have with this known working version that I put together:
http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?6952-Primo-1.2-Build-9.2.0.192885-May-20-2011
There is no way I can know what may be wrong with what you have, but the sys.txt you are using is far too convoluted, and you probably don't even need 90% of it. It, alone, is a recipe for disaster.

Only save your map files, and copy them to the Map folder under content in the new version.

If you choose not to do the above, then good luck----you will need it!

Good!
Did you get the TTS Pro voices from here?:
http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?6962-iGO-Primo-1.2-Nuance-TTS-Pro-Voices
They are specifically for Primo 1.2, and they all work.

If you are using older voices (from something other than Primo 1.2), they may not work correctly 'out of the box'.

Try another voice...they dont always work in tts.

Make sure you have this in your sys.txt:

To enable old voices write in the 1.2 sys.txt
[sound]
csv_voice_enabled=1

Also pay attention to this:

To use Loquendo TTS voices in Primo 1.1/.2 you must do this:
You must add in the voice file:
tts_engine="loquendo" in "info.ini" file
