Install IGO on Tomtom unit

Postby surreychris » Fri Mar 15, 2013 9:45 pm

Hi All

My father in law is visiting us this weekend and bringing with him his Tomtom unit. i have googled his model number and found out he has a 'One third edition' model.

I would like to wipe this if possible and load either IGO8 or IGO Primo on it for him.

Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, how is it done.

I have copies of both igo8 and primo 2.4 on my pc which I use in my own double din in the car

thanks

Chris

It can not be done, sorry.
TomTom puts a linux based "home made" Operating System on all its units.
IGO and Primo need Windows CE. (not counting the Android and iPhone versions here)

Thanks
I realised that, as well as its only aq 32mb ram and 1 gig memory so i even doubt it would be powerful enough as well.

Ive been looking on ebay and saw some cheap 5 and 7inch ones with wince 6.0, 4gb sd and 128mb ram which would be much more customisable and should run primo 2.4

will tell him to put his hand in his pocket and upgrade

Or you could visit the Tomtom forum here and upgrade the maps on his current unit..?
