Installing Igo Primo2 on Binatone F430

Postby halcyon » Fri Sep 27, 2013 10:01 am

Hi guys,

First of all I apologise in advance for dumb questions! and what I`m doing is not neccessary but I like to tinker! :-)

So from the begining I`ve got a new Binatone F430,a new Samsung 2Gb Micro SD (not SDHC) card and a card reader.

I`ve formated the card in FAT 32.
I`ve downloaded Igo Primo2 (its got a Romanian map on it! and every language in Europe! but I can delete all that one I get started) :-)

The download is zipped, I extract the entire folder (Winzip)and when I look into it I have 6 separate folders.
(content,License,Save,Branding,Data and the Primo.exe application file)

The content in these folders is zipped.

My simple question is do I go through and unzip each individual file or is unzipping the main (original Primo2) folder enough and the Binatone has the ability to read zipped files?

Told you it was a dumb question but you`ve got to ask ;-)
Thanks.

No such thing as a dumb question! Instead of Winzip which causes errors, you should be using Winrar. Do not unzip data or branding. They must remain as zipped files. Same goes for voice files and most of the content. It's obvious that you didn't get the program here because our instructions are quite explicit. Good luck. And, yes, you can delete those content files that you don't need or use.

Thanks Chas,

Actually I did get the link from here and downloaded from a mirror site as my service provider dosn`t allow me to use Torrent and as my computer is 13 years old running an Athlon 1.8mhz chip and only 2Gb of Rom I have to be careful about downloads speeds and sizes so I don`t want to download any of the million "downloader/Ilivid" sites i get when clicking on the links on here :-)

I have been reading these threads for three days now and have a basic understanding of the process.
I can`t find any sys,txt folder but two called sysdrop.txt and syswrap.txt, I`ll work it out :-)

Thanks for your quick reply

Can you link us to the program that you downloaded from here? If you wind up with Ilivid, then you're downloading incorrectly. Those sys.txt files you refer to are NOT a real sys.txt. I don't know what they are.

I`ll have a search but I didn`t bookmark the page and deleted the file after I unzipped it (space issues with this old computer)! :-)
I think it was download from share-byte as it wasn`t a torrent.

Can you tell me the name of the program and the version number?

Hey Chas,

In my blundering around I deleted the whole thing but no worries I`ve just downloaded Primo 2 again using the link from here, the program is the Pri24BD.rar one and I take it this is version 2.4?
It would not unzip to my documents as there was a fault in the Voice_Rom_f1_lua_zip file so I deleted it in Winrar (yes I downloaded that as a trial program :-) ) and it extracted fine.

I`ve deleted the voice and lang files I`ll not be needing (leaving all Eng..US and Aus in contents) AND the system text file is sitting there right in front of me so thats solved :-)

I only have basemap.fbl in the maps folder so I`m going to need a UK fbl to add.

Any ideas? and thanks in advance as I`ve got a feeling this is not going to as simple as it looks ;-)

I take it you're following this guide...

http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?6936-Guide-to-Binatone-devices

I've put these files on a F430 myself and they do work ok.

UK content is here...

Thanks FF yes I am using that guide.

Regarding the content pack..the link takes me to the Embed site.

Couple of questions...is it neccessary to download next time?
It shows six other sites, which is the best to use without having adware plastered all over the place?
And last is it possible to just download the basic UK fbl anywhere?

Thanks guys!

Read the instructions, you only need to download the generic pack and one other pack.

Check out post #8 here...

Ok guys :-)

So far I`ve managed it with your help :-)
I`ve got the maps and poi`s for the Uk and Ire, not just the fbl`s but fda` etc :-)

A couple of points for reference the sites on the embed page:
Uptobox.....files not found
Zippyshare...file does not exist
Croco...not responding
Filerio....error uploading

Fischer (however it`s spelt) came good though and it`s partly my ignorance as I was under the impression that Next time was a hosting site! Doh! until I saw it was a rar. :-)

POI`s do they go in the content\map folder? don`t worry I`ll have a quick search as I recall there being a thread I spotted about that.

Thanks again :-) :-)

POIs go into content\poi not content\map.

Hmmmm there is no poi folder!

In order there is in my content folder....

Car
Global_cfg
Lang
Map
Scheme
Speedcam (empty)
tmc
Voice
vr_vde

All folders

and a Copy,db file

Should I just create a new folder in content and name it poi? If I do will it need a shell to point to it?

Bit confused here :-(
