Where did you get Primo - I suspect not here - and what build?
We do not give support for software you got elsewhere. You should ask where/who you got it from.

Sun May 20, 2012 9:38 pm

yes go it here, will ask him

Sun May 20, 2012 9:41 pm

Got it here? :chok_mini: huh? :chok_mini: And Primo connects to the net right after selecting the voice ? huh? Image Never seen !!!
From which thread ??

Just to clear this up (?)...
"My" build, does not attempt to connect to any 'server' for any reason upon initial startup (or any time after that).
The only way I know for something like that to happen is to (incorrectly?) edit sys.txt before starting the program, or it's not my torrent version at all, and old/obsolete statements/settings reside in sys.txt or other component settings.

And not to be stuck up or arrogant about it, but if a person decides to cherry-pick...advice from here, advice from there, a download from here, a download from there (other than what the MODS on this site have tested, use, and recommend) the results can be unpredictable. And in the worst case scenario maybe catastrophic to a device.

Mon May 21, 2012 1:54 pm

I downloaded a build from another forum and with the original sys.txt I did not get that error message. But later I modified the sys.txt with a few extra lines (not sure which ones did it) and I started getting that same message. So as far as the message I would say its something in my/your sys.txt. Reguarding it freezing, if you don't have a save folder in your primo directory, and you have speedcams in the speedcam folder, then after you select the voice you want, it does not freeze. It is simply creating a speedcam database, which on my device can take up to twenty minutes. Meanwhile it will appear to be frozen.

Good point. Thanks.
But TWENTY MINUTES????
Sheesh, that must be some HUGE database ya got there!:)

guys to give you some background, it is anew chinese sat nav 7 inch 128mb which arrived on Saturday with igo 8 and maps on it which work fine, I downloaded primo 2 last night (from Yurbuh Tuggly) and loaded it all onto and sd card not internal flash memory and set nav path. starts then voice option comes up and that message, clear msg and it freezes (or seems to) i am no expert but think it is probably simple. maybe i need to edit the sys.txt file or create a folder? any suggestions? would it be better if i put it on the internal memory? if so and the maps were on an sd card would it find them?

I am grateful for the download and link from Yurbuh Tuggly, I have not altered it in any way

Mon May 21, 2012 2:25 pm

have started it up and will leave it to see if it does as igoprimo suggests

Well good. It should work then. Did not mean to 'accuse' you of anything, just trying to 'guess' what the problem may be...if there really is one.
It is possible, that your particular device may need some sys.txt adjustments, but that is an unusual situation for that build.

What you might want to do is post here the contents of the sys.txt for Primo 2, and also, separately, the contents of the sys.txt for the version of iGo that came with the device...some things in there might be useful or necessary....but probably not a lot.

Should make no difference to operation. If your internal storage has a lot of space, you could put Primo there to save extra space on the SD card (like if you want to put music files or something).
Other than that, it should run fine from the SD card like it is. Best, in many cases, to keep the program and maps together on the same storage...no, they would not be found 'automatically' if separate.

if i have got this right this is contents of sys.txt on sd card

Nothing 'wrong' there.

So the question remains, did Primo eventually start up to the point where you can switch to map view, adjust settings, etc?
And, most importantly, does it get a satellite lock outside in the open air?

It might be a good idea to list the specs of your device (if known)...like internal storage size, RAM memory, resolution size, etc. Or a link to the device if you can.

veralum wrote:and this is from internal memory---iGo8

Do not, at this point, copy any of that to the Primo sys.txt!!!!!
