Internal Memory

Postby Lackomelza » Sat Dec 15, 2012 3:06 am

I have a chinese 2 din IN-dash gps with 2 sd card slots, one for gps the other for data. I have asked this qouestion before. The machine c
machine could not read my cards. I keep changing cards but none of them can be read by the machine.
when I press 'enter' or 'navigate' after putting the card, I get 'no navigation software'
or storagecard/nandflash/nandflash software. Is this internal software? I do not know what it means.
My question would be can I inslall the primo software inside the internal memory? can I read what is in the internal
memory?
Thanks

Things to check...

1, Are you using a SDHC card in a SD only device?
2, Did you try to set up the path to the new software, the system won't find it on it's own!

I am using SD card only and the path always depends on the software. Igo.exe or primo.exe etc..
I know what you mean but, I have been using those softwares for sometime now. I was asking if I could install the software inside the hardware internal memory because my gps stopped reading external cards. By the way my device could read both kinds of cards (was reading).
Thanks Fatboyfun

You can but it's really not reommended. A SD card is usually the best way. Too many bad things can happen when messing with the internal.

EDIT: Just remembered, any chance you accidentally pushed the slide to a no-read position?
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

What slide? I did not see any slide. is there any slide near the slot? I do not see any button. I beleive you are right , if I try, I will mess up the whole thing. Would it mess up the Radio, DVD player, SD card reader, USB and others? If it messes up just the gps I do not care. it is already messed up. so, if I have to do it how would I do it?
T.hanks again

The write protect switch on the card.

To get files onto the internal memory you need some way of browsing the file system, Either by using a PC, possibly with ActiveSync/WMDC or using Total Commander or similar on the device.

Did you try disconnecting the device from the battery? This is the only way to reset some of these devices.
