I have a chinese double din unit from a-sure in china model number AS-W7TD and after getting sick of their installation of iGO 8 which they have not bothered to setup properly I have now binned it as I had enough of trying to correct their cobbled together install mistakes and with a new 8GB sd card and the helpful tutorials on here I now have a fully working version of Primo 2.6.5. with Dimka-WA skin
Now everything works perfectly with the exception of TMC and I dont know if its me missing some settings in the skin or the program itself. TMC chipset is built into the unit and did on occasion work with the original iGO8 the unit came with and I was able to access the stations list but not on my new install of Primo.
The original iGO sys.txt does not have an entry for [tmc] at all but in /iGO8/Save there is a system.ini file which does contain a [tmc] section as below. This does not exist in the Primo installation.
[tmc]
saved_config_available="1"
saved_config_classname="NMEA_GPSTMC_ROYALTEK"
saved_config_portname="COM"
saved_config_port="3"
auto_tuning="1"
saved_last_frequency="958"
I am guessing that the Primo installation is not seeing the hardware which is why it does not show up in the settings.
In the Primo2 content directory there is a tmc folder
So to my questions>
From the above system.ini where would i find the saved_config information
Should I copy all the relevant tmc dll files from the iGO8 installation to the new Primo installation or does it require new versions.
Am I missing a setting in the skin somewhere and where should TMC show up within the settings.
Do i need to do anything with /content/tmc.
As the chipset is Royaltek does anyone have any info on how to set it up in sys.txt.
I am a newbie to these devices but am beta tester for linux based satellite tv equipment so can muddle my way around.
Any advice gratefully received

Yes, try that first..then restart.

No.
And Primo2
generally does not need any entries in sys.txt, and anything required in system.ini will be put there by Primo itself once the hardware is detected correctly.

He might need to make sys.txt entries for TMC.

Worth a shot...that would have been too easy.
See this thread:
How-to-make-TMC-workThe whole thread does not necessarily apply to you, but within it are a variety of DLLs (including one from my own working device) to download and try. It could be that the DLL included with your iGO8 installation is a bit out of date for Primo.

have downloaded those dll's from that thread and will begin testing shortly - need to know though where exactly I should be looking in the interface/ settings for TMC as I assume it will show up somewhere if I find the correct dll
thanks again

Settings>Traffic>Traffic Receiver (Tick). If that is greyed out, no hardware has been detected.
No skin is necessary (when enabled, you will see the receiver scanning on the Map View in the upper right corner--looks kinda like a Cell Tower), but a good skin (diMka) can certainly enhance the settings/view.
Be sure to put any *.DLLs in the root of your Primo folder (where the EXE is).

[Solved]

saved_config_available="1"
saved_config_classname="NMEA_GPSTMC_ROYALTEK"
saved_config_portname="COM"
saved_config_port="3"
auto_tuning="1"
saved_last_frequency="958"
Big thanks for all the help now have a fully working system

These are the 'official' settings/format for sys.txt in Primo (as said, generally not required, but as Chas521 pointed out, there are exceptions depending on hardware):
[tmc]
show_tmc=1
port="COM,3"
baud=38400
source="[color="#FF0000"]gns[/color]"
Probably [color="#FF0000"]NMEA_GPSTMC_ROYALTEK[/color] goes here.
But if it works as is, you could leave it alone!
Glad you got it figured out!
