Last version of Primo 1.2 (May 2011)?

Tue Jul 05, 2011 5:48 pm

Hi All,

Does someone can help me to understad something: Why does the "new" Primo proposed by nabi have a version number (9.2.0.191493) lower than the previous one (9.2.1.xxxxxx)?
And what improvement (or difference) does this new version offer?

Thank you guys!!

The real version number is the xxxxxx. Look at my "builds" post (http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?913-List-of-iGO-8-%28Windows-CE%29-releases) and then it should make complete sense. The higher the xxxxxx, the later the release date, the newer.

8.0.* was iGO8 R1
8.3.* was the R3 iGO8
8.4.* was the R4 (Amigo)
8.3.4 introduced driver alerts, before it was 8.3.2.

This numbers go up also, so that too makes some sense. A new feature, important enough, a higher *.*.*
In the past these *.*.* were mixed used for PNA and PDA builds as well.

Why the number is lower in this case (9.2.0 <> 9.2.1) I can not explain. Probably it's because it's a build designed for a specific device?
Or is it a simpler build, with something left out?

Very clear, thank you very much!
Have you experienced any improvement/difference with this version?

Clear? I am glad because I feared it wasn't.

I haven't tested 9.2.0.191493 at all. I can confirm the messages that Primo1.2 doesn't work on some PDA's.

Bernardo65 has tested ans says (on the German board) about 9.2.0
Translation:
I have tested this build shortly and at a first glimpse, it's identical with 9.2.1.178658 or 9.2.1179499. At least, I haven't noticed any new things. Probably, this is a build designed for a specific device, like 179499 was too. Reduced to the .exe, the data and branding files, one gets 178658.
This is about what I said and lets suspect it's only the last (or last but one) build in disguise, only to be sold in a package with a device

However, like I said in the announcement (http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?6546-Primo-9.2.0.191493-May-11-2011) in 9.2.0.191493 is a a voice recognition file included. But does it work only on the specific device?
[quote="Yurbuh Tuggly"]No Voice Recognition (yet) with new exe and data.zip.
There are still pieces missing--both in a folder "Vocon/Models" and (probably) in the voice.zips.
I think if anyone is ever to get this to work, the files must come from a retail unit where it actually DOES work. And from what I've read, this still may be months away--and probably a new Primo]

I found this info elsewhere--but I cannot attest to it's accuracy:

NavNGo Primo v1.2

9.2.0.191493 --- 11.May 2011 - PNA
9.2.0.191493 - from update for PNA "NAVON_N750"
9.2.1.185801 --- 29 .Mar 2011 - ALDI PNA AUSTRALIA
9.2.1.179499 --- 15.Feb. 2011 - PNA "GoCruise"
9.2.1.178658 --- 09.Feb. 2011 - PNA "Navgear GTX-60"
9.2.1.176668 --- 27.Jan. 2011 - PNA Demo

This would indicate that every build from February through March was a device specific variation on the original "Demo" version. And that, starting in May they began an entirely new build string--perhaps meaning that it is a more 'generic' or 'final' version meant to be distributed on a wider variety of devices.
Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.
