You really don't want the Navteq POIs but you do want the TA POIs. I have the East coast plus some others.

I have the TomTom Teleatlas pois but their location on the map is off by a considerable amount for my area. The navteq pois are located correctly but some major points of interest like the police station and some others don't showup. Why do you think I would like the TA pois better?

Because TA POIs are much more plentiful than Navteq POIs. How far off is considerable? Also, what state[s] are you looking for?

For some gas station and other places they can be off by up to a mile or a mile and a half. In particular I was looking for the south east but I would prefer all the US.

There is NO way that they should be "off" by that much. Maybe 10-15 yards at most. It sounds like you have a bad corrupt download. I have Florida. If you give me some SE states, I'll see what I can do. All 50, I can't do because of time constraints.

I have them all (both TomTom and Navteq)..the TomTom (Teleatlas) Premium POIs are from this torrent:
-USA-Canada-2011-Q3-TorrentBut the poi's alone are over 740MB, so I am unlikely to want to upload them all somewhere else.

I found the last TA pois and downloaded them. They are all off by a considerable amount too but not quite as much as the first ones. I also tried the lastest navteq pois and the same points of interest are missing for my area.

Then something is causing a conflict or is just wrong. TA POIs work fine on my device and, in fact, you're the first person that has ever brought this up that I know of. AND TA POIs ARE much better than Navteq. If I were you, I would think about deleting your present program [except content] and downloading and installing one from here but that's entirely up to you.

I was originally using igo primo 9.2x and I just recently upgrade to primo 2.0 9.6x and on both versions the TA pois are WAY WAY off for where I live. In fact I actually had a genuine TomTom One and the pois on it were just as much off for this same area. And its not just the pois that are off, the maps also shows some of the roads in the wrong spot. But my navteq pois and maps that I recently switched to are very acurate, just some places are missing like the local sheriffs department. By the way, I installed the TA pois on both the TA maps and Navteq maps and that didn't change anything.

Honestly, I don't care for Primo at all. I use iGO8 completely. I have Primo 1.1 on my SD card so I can be familiar with it. I've found that Primo 1.0, 1.2 and 2.0 do NOT navigate properly for me. FWIW, xtyler92 feels exactly the same as I do - he and I are in touch. He deleted his 2.0 and returned back to my 1.1. My 1.1 isn't too bad but I still prefer iGO8. Perhaps Fatboyfun or Yurbuh Tuggly can aid you here.

Somehow, I don't think it is a Primo/iGo version thing. I too have never before heard of such (vast) differences in location between the POIs and the physical place. A few yards (maybe up to 10), yes. A mile or more? No.
I have used both Navteq and TomTom (Teleatlas) POIs and generally found, except for differences in content/number (which do not bother me as I keep a limited number of POIs visible anyway, so I just use the smaller files of the two which happen to be Navteq), there is zero difference in accuracy.
I find it interesting that a TomTom device showed the same inaccuracy for the same area...assuming they use roughly the same POIs as the company they now own. It must be something very peculiar and specific to that particular area/region.
