Hi,

I just bought a new chinese gps and I noticed there is a section in the setting for live traffic reports. I checked the box so its on and it looks like it is on but it says 0 problems affecting you all the time. Does anybody know anything about cheap chinese units and live traffic. Anywhere I might get some info on it. Anybody have a unit with live trafffic that work? Could really be helpful if it works.

Live traffic will only happen in the US if you subscribe to the service - costs money.

I have live traffic in the UK. It's okay, but it's not perfect. There are some problems with it. TMC is okay, but it still has it's own problems

I too am in UK and have been trying to get TMC working for UK maps.
I use iGO NextGen. ( iGO Avicsync 9.18.28.624772(Jan 14 2016) )
Have latest license
TMC appear live in the contents folder as three out of the four are black
What is your sys.txt like.

Are you using Android? TMC doesn't work with Android, only online traffic. You're missing the url for online traffic.

Where will I find the url?
I take it I just put this into the sys.txt file?

TMC isn't via Internet, it's via FM Receiver.
Online Traffic is via Internet.

Let me edit your sys.txt, give me a bit and I'll do it.

I've also just checked that the Samsung Galaxy S6 doesn't have a radio receiver so my only hope is to use online services to get live traffic

no Android devices support TMC. For one, it requires a specialist RDS chip. In fact, I'm yet to see any phone other than the HTC HD2 and that was only via a bit of hackery, basically tapping into the RDS chipset, but not on Android, on WinMO I think.

Copy and paste your whole sys.txt onto here and I'll edit it and sort it.

Will this also sort out the petrol and parking data as it will connect online?

You're too kind mate.
Mind you do need to keep the
[rawdisplay]
dpi = 577
base_dpi = 190

As this helps with size otherwise everything look to small.
