mio c320 + primo 1.1 stuck at looking for GPS signal

Tue Feb 21, 2012 2:39 am

Newbie here

I am using old c320 + xtyler92 stuff back then and based on his reco, I donwloaded primo1.1 from chas link + usa-canad11q2 map.
am able to tweak the old ui to run primo1.1 and program is running fine unfortunately it stuck at "Looking for GPS signal"
am I suppose to edit sys.txt with some sort of gps settings?

I also downloaded primo2.0 and able to get it to run on my c320 and gps signal is fine there but based on why I read so far, primo2.0 is overkill for my c320.

Any suggestion to fix the gps issue with primo1.1?

TIA

Put this on sys.txt :

[gps]
port=2
baud=57600

On my C320, it's 1, 57600. Oh, and P2.0 does work but I find P1.1 a much better nav for me.

thanks for the responses! I tried both port 1 and port 2, port 1 is the correct one for mio c320

[gps]
port=1
baud=57600

Chas, primo2 intl edition from ZERVDIM is working fine in my c320. not sure its better interm of nav yet compare to primo1.1
btw, what is the best skin for primo1.1? the one downloaded from your link only contains default and picto.

Thanks again

Good job! I like Primo 1.1 MUCH better than P2.0. I use the default skin for all my navs except Kikker 3.2 for iGO8. The others are much too busy for my taste.

wondering if any of you use air vent mount for c320? am looking for one that can swivel around so can adjust the viewing angle to avoid sunlight.

I've seen them advertised but I don't have any personal experience with them. I use the cup holders between the seats to hold my GPS with the speaker facing outward. I lay it down flat. I really don't look at it but listen to the TTS voice guiding me.
