Mio MOOV 300 problem with iGo

Postby Vadim » Sat Aug 21, 2010 10:28 pm

Hi,
May be it is the wrong thread, but...
I've made a mistake while installating the iGO8 on my Mio Moov 300 and
changed the PATH and AppStartupSec.
After the installation the coputer doesn't recognize never my Mio device nor my SD Card.
I've tried MortScript but without any results...
Expect not recognizing the iGo functions propertly. Another problem is that the iGo turnes off by pushing the device button to "reset" only...
I'll be very appreciate for the answer!

If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

Just wondering what you did to install iGO if you did not unlock your mio first?

I had the USB connection before and using that connection I put the aproppriate files and folders in the Mio device memory and in SD Card. The problem caused by changing the paths in AppStartSec.ini ...and the connection had lost.

The only thing I can suggest is that you try downloading miopocket: [Please Register or Login to download file]
and see if you can get iGO running. It would be better if put iGO only on the sd card and not split between the Mio and the sd card.

bad move... you never want to edit that AppStartSec.ini file. Does the navigation program still run? As chas stated you might want to try MioPocket and see if that will run. If you have the CD that came with your Mio, you might want to look through it and see if you can find another copy of that .ini file. If you can get MP to run, then place a copy of the AppStartSec file onto the SD card and use the file explorer in MioPocket to replace your bunked up copy. That or you should be able to just manually edit it using the text editor in MP. Just make sure you cnahe it back to what the original said before you edited it.

I have made the backup, but the problem is that I can't put it back into Mio, because the connection with a computer had lost!
I have tried the proposed Miopocket method but the Mio refuses to install the program! It's only looking for iGO8!
Than the battery is low and the device is get down I put the power switch at "OFF" position and connect it to USB. The computer recognizes that some device is plugged, but can't find the appropriate driver for it (Code 10). I have looked in Mio installation disk I have and in internet , but without any results...
I think the correct driver will solve the problem!

Hi,
first of all thanks for trying help me!
I put the "gurjon skin" on my SD, but the result was the same.
When I discharge my battery (today I have "reached the level" that the device stopped functioing in all switch positions because of the empty battery) and then I connect the device with the switch in "OFF" position the PC recognize that something entered it's USB but this "something" hasn't appropriate driver to start! Then, I have in my Windows Device manager th" USB Mass storage device" with "!" and device status "This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device."...

total commander is a file manager. i understood your igo works on your sd card.
you have to put gurjon skin in igo/content/skin folder.
you have to set igo to run with the skin.
you will find total commander here - in miopocket unziped folder - MioAutoRun\Programs\Total Commander
you also have to put on your sd card the files you want to put back on you device (from your backup).
now you have to set the external program in igo to run total commander. then you will be able to replace the files that are not good with the backuped files.
