has enyone had the problem of the first words in directions not being spoken or only the last part of the word?
I've just installed Primo on my Chines in car unit and everything is working fine except the speech issue. I had IGO8 on the SD before and had no problems with it.

First thing I would try is this. It's very possible that the voice file got damaged in the transfer. BTW, what voice are you using? Where did you get the Primo program and what version are you using?
