Hi everyone, great site, thanks for all the work you put into it.

My wife had an LG N10 before we were married (I would never have got it). She is due to go on a long trip so don't want her depending on her mobile for navigation. It is a Wince5 device, with 64mb of ram. It's 'powered by Navteq' according to the splash screen.

Anyway, it is no longer supported by LG, nor even a recognized product. I thought I would dump some new maps and software on it. I thought nothing could really go wrong if I just renamed the exe to the one that the unit starts for navigation. How wrong I was.

It just loops like this forever.

I cannot access the memory at this point either. I only have a usb input, a reset button and a headphone jack.

Is there ANY hope for this ?!

There's ALWAYS hope - just no guarantees. First question is what happens when you plug your device into the computer via USB? What do you see in "My Computer?"

Nothing appears. I guess it doesn't reach that bit in the boot!

Do you have a CD that came with your device?

No, long gone, it's about 6 years old now. Am I getting to the end of the list of hope? ... :)

Maybe not. Let's try some more. Does your device use a SD card?

OK, you answered my question whether you know it or not. We need to get into your internal flash drive and see what files make it operate thus my question regarding My Computer. Let's try this program called Total Commander http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?8753-Total-Commander-Pro Hopefully it will give you access.

As Chas521 is guiding you...there is always hope as long as something appears on the screen.
But it also depends on what exactly you did...if you could outline the exact steps you took between working and not working, that would help.

Another thing to consider (taking into account it's age) is that a (probably) better unit could be had for far less than $100, so you have to balance the amount of time you may put into it vs. how fast you need a working device and arrive at a decision.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Basically just dumped igo into the nav folder and renamed the exe to match the one the unit was expecting. Stupid huh ?

Not stupid at all. It just usually doesn't work that way. Although sometimes it does. What's happening with Total Commander? Cost should not be the issue when speed is necessary and you need a device. You don't have to throw anything away because it can always be a work in progress.

Yes they do. I just tried them. Rapidshare was fine.
