nabi please help.. problem with build .90500

Postby skillets » Wed Mar 23, 2011 3:48 pm

I'm just speaking in general, about everthing. In two days I went from not know anything about igo navi systems, to knowing how to put one on a navi device and understanding the files and what they do(some what, still a lot to learn).

By "it" I did mean iGO.

Do you know how to get the voice to work?I music turns down to allow it to speak.but, she doesn't say anything.

Thanks for the cryptload help chas.

When you selected the voice, did she speak?
Is (in iGO) the sound turned on and set to loud?

The clock in iGO? It should set itself when you have a satellite fix.

Blame the device manufacturer. Nabi is quite correct. A satellite lock will give you the correct time. Remember, the device is not using the battery except when it is active.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

If the wrong time persists, maybe for some reason, you are in the wrong timezone. Or better said, iGO thinks it is.
There is or should be a sys.txt entry to solve that, based on time zones.
What index to use for your time zone? No clue, each time zone has its own index number, but which one?. Amsterdam has "29" so if that is yours, you are lucky. But what if you leave the time zone? I don't know. so maybe better use auto_index? Auto_index is supposed to set your timezone based on your GPS location. but again : the index?
Honestly, that is all what I know about these lines:

[timezone]
auto_index=29 ;
default_timezone=29 ; GMT+1 amsterdam
index=29 ;
manual_dst=0
reset_os_timezone=0 ; I think this syncs the OS timezone to the GPS software setting
sync_os_timezone=0 ; I think this syncs the GPS software to the OS timezone.
sync_time=1
use_auto=1

You can experiment with these lines a bit. It doesn't hurt to leave one or more out and only use the one you think you need or change some values. I never tried it, my device shows the correct time. Possibly because the device's settings are correct ? So this could be the best tip?

No, I would not try the complete text. Does your device show the correct time? (when it does show the time)
Then try first
[timezone]
sync_os_timezone=0 ; I think this syncs the GPS software to the OS timezone.
sync_time=1
use_auto=1

See what these lines do. Then you can experiment if the time is not correct. But I repeat, the time shown by iGO is the satellites time.

All links die very quickly, some within a few hours. So this one will live very shortly too.
