Need Help

Sun Jan 20, 2013 4:12 pm

Hi guys,

I have an Macrom DVD7702 Double din in my car.

I got an SD with iGo Primo 9.6.2.209584 2GB and that works. Somes it freezes when using the navigation but for the rest it's fine.

I got a question:

I got a 4GB FAT16 card. Everytime I put another iGo Primo version like 9.6.13 or iGo 8 and I put the SD card in my car, i go to path settings and all I see is Residentflash, blank, like it sees nothing on the SD.

Any idea how I can fix this? I want to try the newer iGo Primo version but till this moment no succes..

Thanks

What happens if you put in a blank SD card? FAT32?

Do you have a separate card reader/writer? You may need to re-format the SD card using FAT32.

In my Macrom SD I got 2 sd SLOTS. 1 beneath the DVD, for music, movies etc, and 1 special slot for GPS/Navigation.

I have an built in SD card reader/writer on my macbook, and an USB adaptar

Is your SD card a standard size or a mini size? Adapters can cause problems.

I have a Standard Size SD, same size as the one that workd. the one that works is a SANDISK 2GB, I got another one same size but 4GB SANDISK ultra speed 2.

like said the 2gb sd works fine, altho i wanted to try a newer version of Primo to see if it works better. But cannot choose primo2.exe or anything when entering SD in the car

Have you checked the specs of your double din? I tend to think that your device can read only SD cards and NOT SDHC on the SD slot that has your navigation software.

The 4GB is a SD card. The 16gb is a SDHC card. I can't find any specs about it, tried google alot these days

It's possible the hardware is limited to reading 2GB SD cards. That would explain the issue.

Are you sure the 4GB is an SD card? I know that 4GB SD cards do exist, but I've never seen one: all the 4GB cards I've come across have been SDHC.

If your unit only has a slot for SD cards, that might be the problem.

It says no HC on the 4gb SD card. Tried it with everything I have on the 2gb SD but same issue. I might try to buy another normal 4GB sd card and try again. If i put mp3, files etc it works fine, might NTFS be a shot to try? or ex FAT?

It sounds as if your unit only recognises cards up to 2GB. So why not use a 2GB card? You can get a full install into that space, unless you plan to drive in every country in the world and have directions read to you in every language.
