Need iGO8 For Chinese Single Din

Postby NJSATMAN » Sun Sep 05, 2010 1:35 am

Just purchased a single din Chinese unit from Ebay that did not come with an SD card. Need an iGO8 SD card for the USA, or a copy of. Runs WinCE 6.0, HiDef monitor.

Last image I had I could not get working. So I need the files and help installing....please.

Sat nav is Eonon G1301.

Please check the IGO section a bit as all you need is there for free download.
IGO is really simple to install and you should not get any problems.
You need the progam itself, a data.zip with you resolution (if not already included), the map and maybe some voices.
All that is here so feel free to use it.
Install Igo, add a map and test it, after that you can add more voices or other content to customise.

Downunder35m said it all. Just do a little searching in the sub-forums. SD cards are pretty cheap these days. 2GB should be fine unless you intend to want more than iGO.

Thanks but I need a little bit more hand holding. I'm not the type, I usually figure these things out on my own.

I did the whole process once already but was unsuccessful. I am now starting this all out from scratch and I have part one done....downloading the iGO8 info. I am going to copy it to a blank SD card and then try it out in my car. I will report back exactly what happens good and bad.

This is the only time I had to ask for extended help like this on anything so like I said, if anyone has the time and/or patience to lead me through this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I downloaded rar file 8.3.2.138649 Apr_19_2010. Changed application.dat file to igo8.exe. I replaced the content folder with one that has USA maps.

The sys.txt file seemed very limited and I'm gonna assume will require a replacement. Any suggestions? Here is my sys.txt file:

Tried this in my satnav. No go. Couldn't find file.

When I bought my satnav with no SD map card, I just assumed there was a massive aftermarket for these things and I probably could get a much better map card. How wrong I was!!!!!!

I actually paid $45 from an auction off Ebay to send me their copy of the latest iGO8 software that is to be used in units just like mine. Hi Res, running Win CE, program runs off SD card.

I'm transferring THAT info that I took off BACK onto the card and go from there. Back when I tried to load the version I paid for weeks ago....it seemed like I almost had it working. Furthest I got was a white screen with a plus sign in the middle that responded to my touch. If I had to guess, it was supposed to be a map and my current position like I had it working but just not the maps.

Need big time help.

I'm sort of confused here. You paid an additional $45 to the seller for an updated version of iGO with maps on a SD card. So why doesn't it work? Didn't they give you insructions for the operation? Do you now have an operating navigation program on your device? Is it current? Why are you trying to change it?

You have to see your internal flash drive by hooking up your device to your computer via USB. From there you have to change the path of the execution to your SD card. Before you do anything though, completely backup your device.
