I've seen this line a "rlandscape" but not sure why it works.

Are you sure your data.zip has the 800*480 resolution in it? Seems it has the 400*240 instead, which would explain filling a quarter of the screen.
Delete the save folder and start up again. If that doesn't solve it, move the sys.txt away from the root or rename it. Delete the save folder once more.
