Make sure you turn on "Show hidden files" and turn off "Hide system files"

combat goofwing wrote:then copy the all the new files overs,so i take it i just put them all in the mobile navigator folder on the SD card and overwrite where needed?

Delete the original MobileNavigator folder and copy the new MobileNavigator folder in it's place, Leave any other folders alone, Make sure the new exefile has the same name as the old one or it won't work!

it has 2 mobilnavigator files
mobilenavigator.exe and
mobilenavigator_yaun.exe so i take it its this one i rename the new one as.Idelete the full mobile navigator folder and copy the new one over, rename the mobnavigator file then add a folder for maps etc

does that sound correct

Without knowing what was done to the original software, i would rename the new exefile to MobileNavigator.exe, and try that first, If it doesn't work try the other one.

Don't worry about content for the moment, just copy the new folder as it is, We'll get it to start on the device first first, then add content...

Guys,
I think that all of you are saying the correct thing[s] but I'm gonna throw my 2 cents in here anyway. Using Winrar, simply extract my cut-down program to a SD card, rename the iGO8 folder to mobilenavigator and rename the igo8.exe to mobilenavigator.exe. Agreed?

Contents: maps [fbl] go into content\map, POIs go into content\poi

We need to make edits in the sys.txt for your device but we'll worry about that later.

Application database error is an easy one to fix. It simply means that the device can't find the exact path to the program. Look around your device to change the path. This is something that you kinda have to do yourself because the device is not in front of me.

Most probably in settings.

Look around the device, not the SD card. Most probably in settings. Or you may have to hook up your device to the USB of your computer and search the files. Example only: a correct path might be Storage Card\mobilenavigator\mobilenavigator.exe.

The storage card might have another name. Sometimes it's Storage Card, StorageCard, SDMMC, etc.

Alternatively, open up sys.txt in the iGo8 folder for editing.
Change this:
Code: Select all
[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

to this:
Code: Select all
;[folders]
;app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

(note the semi-colons)
Save the sys.txt file, and try again.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

[color=#FF0000]First of all, mobile navigator is ONE word - mobilenavigator.[/color]. A save folder is created automatically by the program! It contains your options. Also consider YT's recommendation. That sys.txt is on the SD card.
