Easy.

Go to the maps section, download and add (copy) the maps to the content/map folder.
One issue possibly. If the iGO on the device is an official one, the license could cause the map not to be recognized. Then swap the .exe and the license folder with one you find here.

Any map files will do...they are compatible with any version of iGo from 8.3 onwards. DEM files are optional and not required.
Which EXE you (might have to) replace depends on what version of iGo software is currently on the device. Go to Help>About and post what it says.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

The maps always have the extension .fbl. For USA maps, Navteq are preferred. You won't need all states, but can select the maps you really need.
DEM files are landscape files and show nice things like mountains, etc. It's eyecandy mainly, but nice to have. On the device probably is a DEM file, but possibly only Europe. World DEM is somewhere in our download section available, I believe.
The .exe to swap is the one and only .exe file in iGO folder/root. Just see the name and path are exactly the same. I don't need to tell you to look for the same build, do I? (settings - about). Else you could always update all (which is easy as well)

This thread explains what all the files are for and what to do with them, some files are exclusive to iGO primo.

I have good and bad news. Or sort of

It don't help to tell anything about your iGO. MobileNavigator is a name used by manufacturers. Important is that you make out how the file structure is set up, with the exact names, because that is how the navigation program is started.

It is iGO on board, however : what iGO??
IGO 8 was released in early 2008. And that was 8.0. Meaning your friends iGO is iGO 2006 (SE possibly) or something else, in any case old. So no new maps. Gee, even the U.K. maps must be antique ! :O
We have to swap the complete iGO to a new build. This is the only way he can make use of newer maps.

For that it is best to know what are the device specifications. Memory? Screen resolution? WinCE version? (4.2 for sure)
