Glad to see you back. You learned plenty from your adventure. I'm assuming that your friend is also in the US. From my experience using different navigation programs, ONLY Primo 1.1 and iGO8 work correctly in NA. I just tried Primo 2.4 and it was incorrect. Plus, the TTS voice navigation was wrong in some cases. It told me to turn at the second set of traffic lights when there was only one set.

I will be around. The "adventure" I had was very interesting and I am sure I will do more as time goes on.

Yes, the guy is in the US. His radio came with Primo 2. I have no clue at this time if it just runs IGO as a simple program like a stand alone GPS does or if there are specific things required to have all features work like with my radio? Unfortunately we live so far apart I can't see it in person. I don't know if other programs will work properly until I fiind out if there are radio specific aspects like on mine?

He is tied up with family stuff right now but he will do this at some point here in a short while. I got him started on what he needs to do this and when he is ready he will let me know and we will work on it.

Either he can post here or you can let us know what's the story.

EDIT: As for your iGO8 program. there are different skins you can also try.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!

Final Update:

Just wanted to drop in and give one last thanks for all the help given to me in this thread and on the site getting a working 2nd version of IGO8. I have sold the vehicle I was using the IGO GPS software in. I really liked the IGO8 Nav and will miss it. I used it to go on vacation to Virginia last fall with my Dad and it worked awesome. I hadn't been to the area we went to in like 6-7 years and boy has it changed. Both my Dad and I were lost down there. The Nav saved the day so to speak as did the updated maps acquired here that took into account a lot of the most recent road changes. So, again I appreciate all the help. The Nav system using the version from here worked great while I had the vehicle. Not a single hiccup. :033:

The new vehicle I bought( 2014 Jeep Cherokee )has factory Navigation and uses Garmin software. I don't like it as well. It works ok but just don't like it as well. Unfortunately it does not appear I can do anything to it. It is preloaded on the internal hard drive of the 8.4A touch screen head unit and all I can do is use the mfg supplied updates and maps.

I will visit now and then for sure but looks like I can't do anything to the new GPS system. :013: The other guy I was going to help get a 2nd working version like I was able to mentioned above vanished from the forum where I was trying to help him so it never got off the ground.

Thanks again guys.
