I had several versions on the device : 1.0, 1.1 ,1.1modified - up to 3 but only the real old ones were working.
I forn several Loq* DLLs in the different releases , 6.0 6.5 and 6.9 after completing my Primo with the missing DLL files I was able to use all TTS voices that I have on the device no matter if the are listed as 1.0, 1.1 or 3
In case you missed it in another thread, this is what I PMed to Xtyler:
To use my Loquendo TTS voices in Primo 1.1 you must do this to all the TTS voices:
You must add in the voice file :
tts_engine="loquendo" in "info.ini" file

Ok, was not aware of that :)
Maybe it would be a good idea to have a posting where the important settings inside the sys.txt and other config files are explained?
I know most are pretty clear, but that does not help if they are not inside your file.
There is quite a bit that can be adjusted especially when it comes to warnings and it would be really handy to have a source of info for that.
Maybe we can open a thread for that and collect the available data?

Actually.... TTS with the voices I was using in the previous version seem to work without adding anything. Chas... I am using your voices, so you might want to try it first without adding anything to the .ini file. Here is where I run into trouble... and it is not a vice issue. After several hours of driving it seems that 1.1 saves a lot of data. This includes things like average speed, distance, etc. I am sure all part of the "green" feature. All seems well and good then suddenly chaos. Somehow I get thrown an error out of nowhere and the device restarts.
If the added features are only the "green" functions and logging then I have to say adding more to the pot only made things messy. I am sure I am not the only one seeing something is a little off with this 1.1 version. Don't get me wrong, at times it runs smooth and as sound as the previous version... however then in an instance a problem out of nowhere. Once the problem occurs I am forced to delete the save folder and start again fresh...
Here is another problem, I notice at each fresh install, after choosing the language, area, etc, I get an error message with the option to hit OK. Seems something is missing for that final screen of the setup. Now, I am using the full set of files JM uploaded. All I added was the sys.txt, maps, POI, TTS, and buildings from the previous version of 1.0 I had running. So it leaves me puzzled.
Lastly, and this is no big deal, but it seems I have the same old splash screen as 1.0, where I see in pictures the splash screen has the whole thing on it about being green....
can someone tell me what splash screen they are seeing... I ask because perhaps JM uploaded a version with the 1.0 data and branding .zip's originally (since I grabbed the first upload he posted). I want to make sure, because it might explain some of the problems I am having.... and I would prefer not redownloading another copy if everyone else has the same splash screen from 1.0

Here's how I upgraded to 1.1 and it works 100% [99% for the most part] but not with the same problems as you are saying. No restarts unless I put it to sleep without shutting down completely - but that's no big deal to me.
In my device Primo 1.0, I replaced the .exe, data.zip, branding.zip and license folder with 1.1 download. In content, I replaced the language folder, tutorial folder and global_cfg folder with 1.1. Then I made the changes so I could use my TTS_LOQ folder. Also I deleted the "save" folder.

For the error message check your lang file. In the folder i18n You must have a "log_collection.xhtml". The lang files from the first Primo have this file not and this makes this error.
Sorry for my south-east asian english ...

Thanks for validating my post Norbert. It was recommended that all people upgrading from v 1.0 to v 1.1 install the new language files.

Ok... then to simplify.... I need to either use a newer language or add an .xhtml file to the language file. I downloaded some of the newer voices, perhaps just using those will fix the issue.
Still want to know about the splash screen. Should it look different than the 1.0 version's splash screen?
EDIT:
OK... I see where I might be getting confused.
There was no English-US language in the language folder.... so I added the one from the previous version. So this is probably why my version seems so crappy. I assume then that people are using the English-UK language. Stupid me... here I was messing with all the TTS stuff and it was the language file causing my problems.
This leaves the question.... does anyone have the English-US file for Primo 1.1? or are we forced to use English-UK?
Actually new question.... can I just take that file from one of the other voices?

I would say no. I don't think that the priority was to make the splash screen different but the workings inside is a different matter. Especially since Primo is kind of new yet.

Problem solved!!! Thanks chas and norbert!!! Turns out all I had to do was take the log_collection.xhtml file from the English_UK language zip and place it in the i18n/480_272 folder in the English_US language zip and suddenly Primo runs smooth as 1.0. Weird how that one error can cause the whole program to run choppy. My faith is reborn. I haven't road tested it as of yet since just fixing it, however I have high hopes. Strange that it would seem that file just posts a message when running the device for the first time.... yet everytime I would run it the whole program ran choppy. I added that one missing file, deleted the save and crash log and bam runs smooth. Lesson here is that it might be best to stick with the correct language files, even though there isn't a US set in 1.1. I'll test it for a bit and if all works without any problems, then I'll upload the English_US language file.
Also... chas I still haven't added anything to TTS and it seems to work. I am using the same set we were using in 1.0... so I dunno, perhaps you only need that with some of the voices.

Great to hear that it's working well now. As for TTS, Susan already had that entry in the ini file. The other voices didn't and I added it and now they all work.

LOL... not to embarass myself, but I only use Susan, which might also explain the confusion. Well glad to know that is why I didn't have to add anything to the .ini file. Thus far Primo 1.1 is growing on me. I have been playing with it for hours tonight and really putting it through the paces. I don't like how long alternative routes take to create for long trips. I was sitting here for 10 minutes waiting for it to show me 3 different routes from Michigan to South Carolina. I doubt I ever really use that function though.... especially given that I tend to go to KY first and then SC from there. It would also be cool if the conversions worked correctly. Even though I chose the English_US language file, I get a ton of just crazy numbers when looking at projected gas usage and the such. Since I never had the feature before, I can assume I will never really use it. Still, it all runs smoothly now.
chas... I did upload my edited English_US language file from 1.0. Here is the link:
[Please Register or Login to download file] I am not really sure what advantage it provides in terms of using it over the English_UK language file, but who knows. I figure you might want it since it is not in the original 1.1 upload.

@Xtyler
Thanks for all the info. The reason I have all the English TTS voices on my device is simply this. Now and then I like a little novelty by hearing Kate's UK voice. I guess the same could be said about the UK people listening to Susan US once in a while also.
