Password for PRI24BD.RAR

Postby bobster » Tue Mar 05, 2013 6:14 pm

Thanks for your response.

I unzipped the 1st file ( part01 ). It unzipped to a sub folder and extracted 5 map files for the UK & 5 for ROI. However, none of the other rar files extracted.

When I extracted the part02 file it extracted some files then gave me 2 errors during the extraction 'wrong password'.

I have absolutely no idea what is going on, and I'm about to give this up as an impossible task.

Can you restore my faith ?

cheers

All these files are one archive that's split up into parts, winrar or 7zip will figure that out and sort it out for you, I don't know about other software, because of this extracting one file at a time will result in errors.

I have used 7zip on the downloaded file 'newtransitvan.rar'. It creates a directory 'newtransitvan' and puts 10 more files UK&ROINQ2012Q3.part01.rar UK&ROINQ2012Q3.part02.rar . . . UK&ROINQ2012Q3.part10.rar
files in that directory.
Can you PLEEEAASSEE tell me what to do now ? Do I run 7zip on each of these files ? or what ?
Thank you so much

Use 7zip on the UK&ROINQ2012Q3.part01.rar file only, make sure that ALL parts are in the same directory, 7zip will recognize it is a split archive and sort it all out for you, there is no need to extract every archive!

I have done exactly as you said.
It has now created another series of sub-directories called UK&ROINQ2012Q3.part01/UK&ROINQ2012Q3/MAP & /POI subdirectories.
Inside the MAP subdirectory are *.ftr *.fpa, *.fad, *.fsp, *.fbl for UK & ROI
Inside the ROI subdirectory are 5 *.poi files

Is this correct ?
cheers again

Dude, I just wanted to say a big thank you for the help so far. I've read your pages until I'm blue at the gills, and . . . I think I get it. I'm bidding on a 2nd hand SatNav on ebay just in case I can't get it to work. Hedging my bets I suppose.

Oh yeah, you know how there's always just one more thing ? Well, since I'm only copying files onto a CD card, I don't understand all the references to COM ports and BAUD rates, and system registries ! Surely I just stuff the CD card into a reader, copy the files, then the CD card into the SatNav and hey-presto. Or is there still a yawning gap in my knowledge ?

Ever hopeful

If you use my files then it is just copy to a suitable sd card, and it works.

'HOORAY' ;)
It's working and I have installed all the extras available, It's far superior to the original software and definitely worth the effort. I might even have a go at installing the TTS stuff.

I don't want to sound too greedy but, are there ever updates of any of the files available ?

Thanks dude for holding my hand through this.

You can expect at least a couple of map updates a year, UK only speedcams maybe not.

TTS is easy, just copy the files to correct places and select a TTS voice.
