Please Help MyGUide MG3218 with IGO How ?

Fri Apr 25, 2014 3:58 pm

Hi,
I have a MYGuide MG3218 that I want to update to IGO however all the data is stored on the internal rom that I have to acces via windows (sync) mobile app

it has a Computer\WindowsCE\ResidentFlash folder with MobileNavigator on it

I have found info of how to install IGO on the MYGuide that uses the SD to store all the data
https://forums.ebuyer.com/showthread.php/11402-125129-MyGuide-3100-Series-Sat-Nav-Unit?p=367295#post367295

however not for this device, it does have the SD slot and I have a SD card though I cant find how to make it boot IGO from the SD rather than the internal ROM

any help appreciated

Thanks
Stef

Update

I believe
https://forums.ebuyer.com/showthread.php/11402-125129-MyGuide-3100-Series-Sat-Nav-Unit/page60
says there should be a shell.ini that says \ResidentFlash\MobileNavigator\MobileNavigator.exe in the Computer\WindowsCE\ResidentFlash folder though if it's there I cant see it I have hidden and system files to visible though it may be to do with having to access it via windows mobile CE

if it was there it would just be a matter of changing it to
\SDMMC\Primo2\Primo2.exe (where I have copied Primo2 to )

help !

nope just found and tried this

When you click on the shortcut to your GPS program by default, runs the file at \SDMMC\MobileNavigator\MobileNavigator.exe [WinCE is not case sensitive].
If you put a shell.ini file at the root of \SDMMC with a pointer to another executable, this will take precedence.

it allowed me to create a shell.ini under \ResidentFlash\ so there is definitely not one there, however it still did not work

Put the shell.ini on the sd card
