Is there software I can use in windows to plot a route (like google maps) save as a file and move to the sat nav to use at a later date?

in addition to the above post by nabi

i use route converter (free)
This board requires you to be registered and logged-in to view hidden content.

easy to plot a route or waypoints. then save as igo8route (kml)

for primo ,place saved file in content > userdata > route . you might have to create the userdata & route folder if they dont already exist.

run primo and import route. once loaded its probably best to re save route .

another option is to use Everywan remote support
This board requires you to be registered and logged-in to view hidden content.

a great tool for controling your device from a pc , creating a good sized mirror image on screen and with mouse control
( connect via usb)

Cheers guys. Couple of options to try out when I have a bit of time. I did find that route converter before marco but I was getting flash errors/problems so gave that up as a bad joke.

OK that ITN Converter is working well, only thing I cant see the save as igo8route option but either of the other two .kml files seem to work. :023:

Tyre. [Please Register or Login to download file]

Found another but looks more modern and has better options. Despite what the main page says it works for Igo8. Just save the file as Google Earth KML file and transfer over :023:

I should have said that you need to have activesync or windows mobile device center installed on your pc also your gps device needs to be able to connect in this way. mass storage connection wont work.
not all devices are compatible

the only other software I think will do this is visual studio with remote debugging tools , but that's a whole heap of tricky software !

I do have windows mobile device centre. I am running igo8 from the SD card so it either does not like my Binatone or its reding the software in the binatone and hates that. I do have Visual Studio on a disk from college in 2010 so I might look into that later. No great deal it just saves a lot of faffing about.

Cheers marco
