POI Question

POI Question

Postby gsthunder » Sun Aug 25, 2013 10:32 pm

Do you use the Extended POI files along with the regular ones or do you use them alone?

Sorry for the dumb question.

Thanks

Try to use them both. In some cases, it can be that you will get double entries.
Since I don't know if the basic files and the Extended/Premium files include the same places, I prefer to have double entries than to miss them.

AFAIK, using NT POI set, you should have the "normal" POI and the "extended" to have the most coverage. Using TA/TT you should use either the "normal" POI or the "premium" since in the latter, the "normal" are included. I could be wrong.

Depends upon the the developer you use in the US. No to Navteq POIs and yes to TT [TA] POIs.

NO! to Navteq. You want TT [formerly TA] POIs for the US.
