Possibility of new skin for iGO Primo 2.4

Postby olaviivalo » Fri Aug 30, 2013 11:53 am

I have used most of navigation software packages from different vendors (Garmin, TomTom, Sygic, NDrive, CoPilot) but seems that best one is still iGO Primo 2.4 (from functional point of view). But it has (at least for me) one very big drawback: usability and UI design. It looks mostly either like crap or its usability is suffering big time, usually texts are too small and either there is problem with text size contrasts or color contrasts. Also alignment of different info boxes has no logic at all. IGO is ugly. I'm UI-UX designer so I most likely know what about I'm talking about.

I would be really interested to team up with some skin developer to create some professional level skin for iGO Primo 2.4. I'm able to "draw" out and plan all the interface graphical side (I would not shuffle things around too much and would not introduce any new functionality as there is no need for that) also plan and design all sub-parts whats possible, including professional looking icons. I would like to create high contrast skin suitable for many different usage scenarios, including for motorcycling but just not limited to it.

So, my question: Is there anyone, who is interested to team up with me and is able to do technical side of skin creation (coding)?

I would suggest that you go to the Dimka site and ask your request in their guestbook.

Do you mean that you couldn't post in their guestbook at all?

EDIT: I just tried it myself -couldn't do it either. It seems that you have register first but I couldn't find out how to even do that.

There is a member who was [is?] interested in producing skins. His name is miomoshe. Try sending him a PM.

FYI - there is a motorcycle-specific skin out there called "Primo Moto Edit". It's a take-off of the Decent skin (my favorite). Just an FYI. I can post a link to it if you'd like (need to find it first).
