after several days of playing around with Primo 9.6.13.405512 and various skins and still getting shutdown after entering second destination (tomsoft skin) or reverting back to car mode after shutdown (dimka wa skin) am going to say am defeated

have found/downloaded primo 9.6.13.267029 and loaded onto my device, used same skins as before and for some reason all appears to work with no problems (well, one problem, when route detour offered if you tap preview primo shuts down, only when using skin)

the only conclusion I can come up with is that there is something different in the 405512 build than in the 267029 build that conflicts with the skins, so for now and going to mothball the 405512 build and wait for future dimka skins that may overcome the issues.

further update

just thought of something I hadn't tried, remembered a reference to DATA.zip compatability in a post somewhere on here so replaced the one in the 405512 build with the one from the 267029 build and now the problem appears to have disappeared. (have yet to test fully but short demo appears to be ok and restart retains truck mode and doesn't revert back to car mode)

the 267029 data.zip appears to be from feb/march 2012 and one from 405512 from march/april 2013, always thought newer versions solved some problems like newer global_cfg solved problem with pios not showing in newer maps, not other way around.

need to locate some other data.zip files to test from different dates of build, anyone got some?

Newer versions of iGO may not be updated with new features or bug fixes, but adaptations for certain licenced devices, it is best practice to go with what works for you, rather than having the latest version available.

only reason I updated was due to binatone died and lost my version I had on it, thought newer version would solve a problem I had with original one, that problem was primo shutting down if an alternate route was available due to congestion and I selected preview route, primo would just shutdown.

Newer version seemed to create more problems when using skin for extra features

Version I now have seems to be same as earlier version, functionality and feature wise but still has same problem with shutting down if I try to preview detour even though dimka skin is latest version available, problem I just going to have to live with.
still going to play around with data.zips and skins and try different ones I come across and who knows, may eventually solve.

That feature works on mine, I'll check what version I have, but it's the one from the guide.

the detour feature does work but only with primo in original state, or with decent colour skin or gjak skin, but with any variant of dimka skin it just turns off.

overall am pretty happy with what I now have even though it took a while to get there, have gone for the tomsoft variant of dimka skin as I like the display/features, discovered that if I turn arrival feature off so it just asks if I have arrived it cured the problem of shutting down after entering next destination, as for detour function, turned it off so it doesn't offer it
