Primo 2.4 crashes when picking roads to avoid

Postby Romeo83 » Thu Mar 07, 2013 11:48 am

Any idea what might be causing this ? Everything works fine in general, but when I go to choose road avoidances, it crashes the whole GPS.

Any error message? It could be memory related or corrupted files...

Primo 2.4 is a very new release. Bugs for sure will appear on use for a while.

Yes my primo 2.4 also crashes when clicking on any traffic event. Previous version worked perfect, but 2.4 (9.6.13.267029) gives instant crash every time. The TMC events all display ok in list and icons on map, but selecting them for details crashes system. I have tried different combinations of maps, a clean build with only required file, no skins etc., but always crashes. Must be a bug in this build concerning TMC event selecting.

Here is my crash log from the clean install I did, with only 1 map, and no extras installed.

Try replacing the following files.

[Please Register or Login to download file]

this one is 800x480 resolution only. Worked for mine. Keep your own license's. I added these ones in because they work on mine and you can use them to test if it is a license problem..

Just use 2.0 for now. 2.4 is buggy as hell.

Sorry i can't help with the resolution. The multires is missing some key components I believe. That seems to be why, when you try to look up or do certain things 2.4 Crashes. I have a bunch of my buddies using 2.4 on their Generic 800x480 units and none are reporting any issues so far..... but it took a lot of trial and error to find the right files. Also i am NOT using TMC and have no way of testing TMC stuff. Good luck.

2.4 is not buggy for me either. However, I use iGO8 in the US exclusively because all Primos [except 1.1] navigate poorly IMHO.

Here's the 2.4 data.zip for all resolutions.

Did it fix the TMC message crash as well? Then I would give it another shot myself...

Weird. After installing this, if I back out of igo and click on the radio on my head unit, it locks up but igo continues to work. Weird.

What exactly is changed in this? Also I assume that you replace the 9.6.xxxxx file with your original Primo2 file?

The files in "Bread Recipe" are as far as i know all primo 2.4 files but from different builds i found scattered around the net. I just kept swapping them out and field testing until i had a set that would Nav without crashing while flipping through the different features.

My buddies all have standalone GPS unit's so i am unable to test it on any kind of headunit. I asked a few of them about music... and they say that when running MP3 music through the FM Transmitter from the GPS unit it does mute the music to announce the next turn as it should.

As with anything it's not a magic bullet fix. It did work for the unit's we had though.

From your data.zip you have to copy the folder 480_272 in the folder ui_igo9 of the d3n1ed`s data.zip and it works woderfull. You have to copy the exe file as well.
I didn`t need to copy the licence folder
