It would be easier if you have the (for rooted phones) original release with the editable sys.txt as you may need to toy with it a bit, but yes, it should be possible.
Disclaimer: I have not personally tried it since I cannot have a 'permanent' Web connection as I go.
And the reason I did not enable everything by default is that the server used is one monitored by both Google and NNG, and I did not want to automatically introduce any 'trouble' for anybody.
Here are some possible sys.txt entries:
[tmc-http]
start=1
enabled=1
servers.size=1
servers[0].url="http://zippy.naviextras.com/services/tmclite/data/nng-igo-tmc-iphone/0/"
dt_dl_0=60.0
dl_dist_0_km=50.0
[naviextras]
boot_service_address="http://zippy.naviextras.com/services/index/rest/2/boot"
[interface]
show_tmc=1
show_tmc_eventlist=1
[network]
available=1
[tmc-http]
enabled=1
Some combination of these may have some positive result.
PS. if the 'connection' method you choose to use is Mobile Data, be careful of your Mobile/Cell Phone plan...it
could result in some heavy usage for data and impact your wallet in a negative way.
