Hi everybody,

I'm using primo 2.4 with DimkaWA P171 GpsForum skin.

My problem is i want my device to warn me before every 800, 500,300 and 100 meters away from every turn , or from every road change regardless my speed i've tried the one like the following line with and without skin but no success, i think this is only working for speedcams:)

warn_distances=''100:1200,90:800,0:500,0:300,20:100''

I'm NOT talking about speedcams, the stock speedcam alerts are just fine. I just one this for regular alerts for turns But i think primo 2.4 does not have such an option to modify these settings.

Any idea for this?

Those kinds of announcements are usually found in the voice files themselves not in the sys.txt. You're talking about trying to make a change when the announcements of upcoming turns are made. At least I think that's what you're asking about. AFAIK, there is no skin or such that can make that modification and you might be asking for trouble if you mess with the voice file itself.

We were able to do it with igo 8 and i don't get it why it's not possible with promo. I just want to be able to decide when do receive turn alerts or other alerts like change the road, or 'stay at right after 500 meters' and so on. (sorry i don't know if the english voice says like this, just for exemple)

Now i'm receiving alerts at 800 and 100 meters and not 300 (i think it's about my speed) and sometimes i receive at 300 too. So it's not very safe cause i just don't want to miss a turn when i'm going with 100km/h.

There must be a solution... but how

Igo8 uses Loquendo voices which are easier to modify. Primo uses Nuance voices which are not so much.

A lot of user control was taken out of primo to make it simpler for the end user.

I agree with you. That's another reason why I use iGO8 and not Primo.

If you use a (non TTS)voice file, the solution lies in the modification of files commands.csv and distances.csv in the voice file.

The (non TTS)voice files of iGO can also be used with Primo.
As you wrote "We were able to do it with igo 8...", why not use that iGO8 voice file with Primo?

Place this in the sys.txt file:
[sound]
csv_voice_enabled=1

Good suggestion but I think he's referring to TTS voices and not non-TTS voices.

I'll give it a try thanks. I'm not using TTS so maybe it will work. and do i need ta add this line along with yours? so it will look like this:

i did it and tried, No success:(

Sorry to add but I didn't think so either. If remember correctly, you said that iGO8 worked. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

EDIT: I see that you're still a guest. Why not register [free] and get the full benefit of Navitotal?!

I also understood that the voice file worked fine with iGO8.
I use both iGO8 and Primo 2.4 on my navi, sharing the folder content. I have one voice file installed which is used by both systems. I have not noticed any difference in the instructions.

Yep igo 8 was much user friendly about this kind of modifications. I'm not registered? uhh but i've registered and logged in. What else should i do?
