Primo 2.4 - UI Labs Menu

Postby cieranc » Wed Oct 23, 2013 11:07 pm

With the help of the good folk here, I've got Primo 2.4 and Truck maps installed on a Chinese no-make.
The unit is working fine today and it's been planning routes around known obstructions, as it should.

Tonight I was tinkering with the settings and was in the UI Labs menu for Cockpit Settings.
I changed it from Auto/Default to Alternative 1, it shut down and restarted with a different screen lay-out, as expected.
So I tried Cockpit Alternative 2, it shut down but when I re-start it crashes, with the message "Failed to open file: ui_igo9\800_480ui\cockpit_2.css exiting application".

Now here's the question - if I connect to the laptop via USB, where/how do I adjust the settings back to Cockpit Default?
In the root of the drive is a folder called ui_igo9, but the folder is empty. And I can't see anything in the sys.txt that looks relevant.

Any ideas gents?

It'll be in the save folder, easiest way is to just delete it and start again.
Otherwise within the save folder are several .ini files that contain the settings, you can open these with a text editor and change them.

Delete the SAVE file and reboot? Or replace the save file with one from the original backup?

There are no .ini files anywhere in the SAVE file. That said, it's possible I haven't got a 100% healthy save file, as the program hangs when exiting.

OK I've answered me own question. There is no save file in the original program, but there is on the installed program on the device. So I guess the program creates the save file on it's first run. I've deleted the save file from the device and rebooted - started up and runs fine!

Could do with sussing out how to modify the UI labs options, if for no other reason than to disable the Cockpit Alternative 2 option, so this can't happen again.

You can just remove the entry from the sys.txt that enables the entire menu.

Is it the experimental_features=1 that I should delete?
Here's what I'm seeing in the sys.txt file:

[debug]
skip_eula=1
experimental_features=1

[interface]
show_exit=1
show_exit=2
extra_settings=1

[other]
demo_enabled=0

[route]
hnr_ignored_missing_country_ids=*

[vr]
disabled=0

[dynamiccompressor]
compressor=1
a0=56806
thrs=24703
ratio=8
gain=10

[utility]
calibratefix=1

Yes, and maybe the extra settings entry as well. The changes you made to those settings will stay.

I think both would do, or comment it out by placing a ; in front of it.

Thanks, just adjusted the Extra Settings to =0, now the UI labs menu icon is gone from the screen.

I had the same issue as Cieranc above. Followed the instructions. Deleted the SAVE folder and rebooted. Worked perfectly. I think i will also make changes to the sys.txt file to ensure it wont happen again.
Thanks everyone
