Primo map color scheme in iGO8

Mon Aug 27, 2012 6:34 pm

Hi mates,

I'm using iGO8.3.4 with satisfaction on my 320x240 PNA. I even tried Primo 2.0, but returned to the "good-old 8". However, the map colors of Primo are much nicer for my eyes, and I want to have these colors in iGO8. Is it possible, and if yes, how? I use Ultra skin 6.0.22. I tried to get the default schemes out of the data.zip of Primo, copied into the content/scheme folder in iGO8, but no success (does not offer the options in the menu). Please, help. THX in advance.

It takes some "programming" to make changes to the schemes, it sure can be done, but you can screw up a lot (thus back up).
I think this matter was discussed recently, Did you search?
The easiest way is to look for different schemes of which there is a choice around the web. Just google for "igo schemes" and you will find plenty.

Because the base graphic map elements are likely different between iGo8.x and Primo, I don't think you will be able to directly use a scheme from one in the other. Not without a considerable amount of work.
Do as nabi says..there are lots already done and proven working. Maybe one you find for iGo8x will have colors you may like.

Thanks both of you for the answers.

Is it not possible, to edit somehow the color.ini in iGO8 with the lines of that of Primo? (But first of all, I should have to find the color.ini file in iGO8...)

I'm quite familiar with both of the programs, made several mods and personalizing, but till this time I used only original versions, without any schemes. I'll try out 27 new schemes that I downloaded, and hope, that will find one for my needs.

Do some reading : http://www.navitotal.com/search.php?searchid=714217

Also do keep in mind that screwing up is easy ;-)

Uhmmm... The link you gave me ended up in this message:

"Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."

If you wanted me to read this thread, I already did it:

I always do a fresh backup before editing, to avoid surprises :)
