Primo 2, both the international edition and the new one, are not working for me.
I installed it on a 128MB Windows CE6 SmartQ v7, where Primo 1.2 is perfectly happy.
But Primo 2 doesn't even try to run. Double-click the exe file and it just sits there. No sign of anything happening at all.
Can anyone suggest what might be wrong?

First things to try are...
Make sure the sys.txt is as near empty as possible, or even deleted, and also the save folder has been deleted.
Remove all the content, except one map.
I've never seen an incidence where absolutely nothing happens, There is always at least an error message..?
Possible bad download..?
Did you try YT's build?

I've tried several different builds and get the same non-result. It doesn't even try. There is no save folder. No crash.txt. Doesn't do anything.
I've tried the same SD card in a HP HX4700 and that starts up as far as deciding the screen res isn't supported. A nice error box. But on the SmartQ not a thing!

Maybe compressing the exe with UPXShell might help..? I've never seen this situation before.
EDIT: Last post on this page...

Nice idea, but it didn't work. Still nothing. If I put primo 1.2's igo.exe in that folder (by another name) and run it, I get the Primo 2 splash screen but it then comes up with an error about a missing language file.

When I google for "SmartQ v7" I get all sort of links, pointing to Android. When I understand it all correctly, it's in fact a triple boot tablet PC (Ubuntu, Android and CE6) but only Ubuntu is fully functional and Windows is experimental (whatever that means and whenever that was written) Also CE 6 needs to be booted from SD, because ROMmemory is full with Linux and Android. ????
[Please Register or Login to download file] it looks like CE6 is fully operational. But is it?

The SmartQ comes with Ubuntu, Android and Windows CE. If you upgrade the android, it doesn't have enough room, so the boot rom is on the SD card. But that's never been a problem. It manages igo8, primo 1.1 and primo 1.2 with no difficulty.

You see. This is something that I don't understand and that's why I put this in my signature. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I'm not referring to upgrading or such but if the new version is not working properly for whatever reason then why not just stay with the version that IS working? I doubt that the new version is the "magic bullet" and has magical new things. A nav only gets you from point A to point B. Therefore, what's old is what's new. IMHO.

The reason for upgrading is that Primo 2 is so much better. The suggestions when you depart from a route are helpful, the route alternatives when you stop making progress are useful and the whole program seems to run more smoothly than 1.2 on my other WinCE unit. And the profiles are useful too.
But at long last I seem to have sorted it. I downloaded the new 9.65 version of the exe and that works. It took nearly 20 minutes to find the GPS and then it took another half hour to start talking, but now it is fine!
