Yes, that seems odd. Both Nitrogen and Navi-player play in stereo for me (either usually started within Primo as external programs). Only the Primo-Player plays in Mono (along with all other Primo Sounds, of course).
I doubt it makes a difference, but did you try reversing the order--start Primo first, then Nitrogen?

Yes, I tried both ways round, really strange. You can hear the sound change when I invoke Nitrogen outside Primo and then invoke Primo. Are there any settings in the sys.txt related to stereo or mono output ?
Cheers,
Andy

Not that I know of. I don't know why or how there would be since Primo is a purely Mono environment. For you, it may be some kind of hardware or Windows thing with Primo 'taking over' the sound output from anything else and refusing to share.
I just thought of something...it's a long shot. Is there anything in your sys.txt with the word "priority" in it?

I just tried this on one of my devices out of curiosity and you're right, it does switch to mono??? Primo does take over some system functions while it is active, Perhaps it has it's own sound driver?

Which Primo are we talking about? I use 1.2--is it possible there is a difference??
I was hoping with 1.2, that the internal player would turn out to be stereo, but alas it did not.
But Nitrogen is most definitely in stereo in the background with Primo running. I can tell by adjusting the balance on the radio and it's obvious. Hardware difference? FM transmitter difference? It's a mystery.

Primo 1.1, I only tried with Primo's own MP3 player and TCPMP.

Hi again,
There's nothing in the sys.txt with priority in it, but after further testing I think I have found that it's not Primo changin the sound to mono. I run hypergps to give me TMC and it seems to be the driver changin the sound to mono before I start Primo. I have tried invoking Primo without the hypergps driver loaded and Nitrogen does play in stereo, I think ! I will do futher testing when I get chance to see if I can get hypergps to leave the sound output as stereo.
Regards,
Andy

Thank you for solving THAT mystery! I was beginning to think maybe I was insane--hearing stereo where others were not.
Unfortunately, I can't help you with HyperGps--don't know a thing about it except to know I did not need it to get everything working after unlocking the unit.
Now back to arguing with myself.
