Primo 2.0 shutting down

Sat Feb 09, 2013 6:11 pm

"Suddenly" I have the problem that Primo 2.0 (9.6.5.211211 downloaded from here) on my Wayteq x960bt, 128MB, WinCE 6.0, shuts down. This will happen when I simulate a navigation (so I expect it to happen on the road too) and it seems to me it happens when I approach a highway, or exit a highway. Perhaps when the signposts on top of the screen are ready to appear, since I never see them. The problem appears only in Italy (everywhere in the country) and only with Navteq maps (2012.Q3). In other countries or with Tom Tom in Italy, it looks to be OK. I have tried "everything": deleted save folder, re-downloaded program files (primo.exe, data, global_cfg,) the skin and the corresponding map in case they got corrupted. I deactivated the signposts to track down the problem. Still the same problem. I do not know what happened. Recently I played with 2.4 and 1.1 and 1.2 and in the end I settled back to 2.0. I am running out of ideas. Should I post my crash.txt? It is rather big, even for one "event", so should I put it all here, or some part of it?

The crash.txt is not of much use to us.

When the problem occurs only in Italy and only with Navteq maps, the reason must be clear. That specific Navteq Italy map is responsible. No doubt.
Did you try another release? (Q2 instead of Q3 or ...)
And why not use TT/TA maps?

Same problem with Q2, which I never had in the past. I do not get it ...

Do you have the maps on SD? Maybe a sector is corrupt and that sector is only by coincidence used by Navteq maps. Or a remainder of all those primo trials is causing this.
For the time being just a guess and not knowing any better. I admit.
I suggest you start the complete install again again from scratch. But first copy the save folder to a safe spot and put it back after the new install so your settings are kept.

Try renaming your sys.txt to sys.old and see if there is any change when primo2 uses the defaults. Also.. sometimes a corrupt voice file will cause a system crash on Nav and simulate.

A corrupt file (any file) will be repaired - when the upload or download itself was not corrupt - by the re-install.

Yes, they are on a micro SDHC card. I formatted the card, re-downloaded everything and now it is OK. Difficult to say what, but I agree that something must had been corrupt.
