Primo 2 - No speed cams in Alert Types

Postby huggy » Fri Dec 30, 2011 12:21 pm

I have installed primo 2 on my wince 6 128mb ram noname satnav, all seems to be working except when I add my speedcams and get a signal lock i am not getting the option to add speed cameras in alert types. Never had this problem with primo 1.2.

Any ideas how I can fix this

Thanks

1) Did you do what is described here?:
http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?8457-Two-problem-with-the-SpeedCams!
2) How did you add the speedcams...by a text file, or some other way?
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

So you are unable to tap the Alert Point Warnings checkbox and continue from there?
Speedcams and the like are in both the Visual Warning and Voice Warning sections on that same page farther down--you can just tap "Select All".
There is no specific "Speedcams" checkbox to enable like there used to be in previous versions. Everything now is just an "Alert"..I suspect this is for legal reasons in some regions.

Thanks YT. I take you mean that when I go into sounds and warnings>alert point setting>alert types. that all I see is railway crossings, school zones, dangerous turn etc is correct.

On primo 1.2 it warns me when approaching a speed camera that it was a gatso, mobile camera etc, will this still happen or will I just get a warning beep when approaching

When you go to Visual Warning/Voice Warning you should see "pictures" of the various camera types in the top row..along with railway, schools, etc.
If you tap "Select All", you will get the warnings you specify.
What the voice will say depends on two things: 1) the text file that your speedcam database was created from 2) the type of voice you are using.
OR you can just hear a 'beep' if you choose NOT to enable anything in the Voice Warning section.
Try various settings, and you will figure it out easily as you pass cams.
In simulation mode, you will get no sound warnings at all (but you should see the icons for the cams on the map).

By the way, if you use the new diMka skin for Primo 2.0, you will find more options for many things...including warnings.

OOPS! I realized after I posted the above that I was describing what I see with the SKIN ON (I've been turning it on and off all day and forgot which state it was in).

What you will actually see (without a skin) is more like I posted to somebody else:
Go to More>Settings>Sound and Warnings>Alert Point Settings. Tap the checkbox..you will get a disclaimer about the legality. Tap Yes.
You can then tap Alert Types and choose the type of warning you want for each one, and whether you want an Audio Warning for each one, and when.
After you have made all your selections, keep tapping Back until you get to where you started.

This is an all inclusive setting section for ALL alerts (including speedcams). Do that and you should be fine.
The skin divides it up a bit more.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Done as you suggested. I got the visual warning of the speedcam but no sound.
Think I will stick with primo 1.2 for now

Thanks

Probably just a simple settings change, but OK.
