Primo2 user interface resolution not supported

Postby blazindata » Sun May 19, 2013 8:32 am

Hi, I downloaded Primo2 having finally got into WinCe 5.0 on my device and extraced and copied to SDMMC card. When i execute primo2 I get the above message which in full reads 'User interface resolution [240x400] is not supported or compatible skin can not be found. Exiting application.' Anyone know what I can do about that please. My device was advertised as 240x320 resolution when I bought but I guess its not. Thanks Steve.

240x400 is not a common resolution, so it's unlikely a data.zip exists for primo 2 that includes it.

iGO 8 does though.

But you may be able to stretch the 240x320 resolution to fit, it might not look that good stretched though.

Play around with these...

[interface]
resolution_dir="320_240"
extra_settings=1
vga=0

[rawdisplay]
screen_x=400
screen_y=240

yeah I got IGO8 to load at least but some of the page was off the screen, though I didn't know you could stretch it (or shrink it is probably what I mean) The display kept flickering though, which was another reason I ditched it. Gonna try the post I saw for a loading bmp to see if that works for primo first and then go back to IGO 8.

You can try this. In the data.zip of my iGO8, in the ui_igo8 folder you will find the various resolutions. Copy that resolution that you require to the data.zip and wherever in Primo. Then make the necessary changes in the sys.txt using the numbers 240_400 and see what happens.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

I uploaded a multi-resolution data.zip and branding.zip.
Can be downloaded from [Please Register or Login to download file] .
Use in sys.txt ta.o. the following settings:
[interface]
vga=0
skin="ui_igo8_da"
resolution_dir="240_400"

[rawdisplay]
class="landscape"
highres=0
screen_x=240
screen_y=400

Supplement:
Pls find here a standard data.zip (so no ui_igo8_da, but the "normal ui_igo8)
So:
[interface]
vga=0
skin="ui_igo8"
resolution_dir="240_400"

Now jou can use e.g. Dimka skins (diMkaWertVRV_1147.zip recommended)

Download the adapted data.zip from [Please Register or Login to download file] .

I do not recall what I uploaded and I only could find an iGO8 data&branding.zip with the required resolution.
Unzip data_brand.zip and you will find the 2 files.
Download link is: [Please Register or Login to download file]
