I edited my topic and recieved a advice I already knew.
"This devices have two modes - sync and mass storage - being the first used along ActiveSync (XP and older) or its successor Windows Mobile Device Center (Vista and newer).
[Please Register or Login to download file] and
[Please Register or Login to download file] .
Although both allow file transfer and have limited backup features it's certainly more practical to use the "mass storage" mode to access the internal flash memory like any other external drive (no drivers or any other software required). Windows CE devices usually have a menu where the users select one mode or another. Windows CE GPS devices usually start the navigation app by default therefore in order to access the devices other features/menus it's necessary to exit the navigator (product photos 1 and 2 show the first page of the device's main menu).
All of this is pretty basic stuff in Windows CE and all the info it readily available just by googling it. No, there's no "CD for this device" and your only problem has just been solved."

So, you are still back to square 1. Still unable to "see" the device in My Computer. What do you see in Device Manager - device showing there at all? I have another idea but it's kinda a longshot but do this other first.

No the device isnt showing at all like it is not connected.

Hmmmm! I'm running out of ideas but you could try this [and do try it!]. I asked you to do it a couple of times now and you never responded. Do the Mio Transfer Hack

Thanks and good luck!
EDIT: Install Mio Transfer on your PC. Then copy mio transfer hack.exe into the install directory. Now you are all set.

I got this answer on other forum.
Really bad if you switched USB mode from ActiveSync to MassStorage, and you now can't access device. If it's a YF or MTK based unit, then they may be a workaround though: You have to create two .ini files directly on SD card, which are Shell.ini and YFAUTORUN.ini. Both supposed to have this inside
\sdmmc\CeDesktop.exe
or whatever app you want to run to get access to WinCE of your device. CeDesktop, a full CE explorer replacement, you can download here.

Whatever you do, I hope it works for you. I know about that method. However, it's a method to unlock a device. Did you look at my post #36 and at the attached picture?

I saw your post and I downloaded 200 mb that you gave link
http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?10454-Various-Mio-unlocks&p=85537#post85537 . And I cant run mio transfer hack. It says "The program cant start because MUT.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this probem"
EDIT: on one other forum they say this down below but I dont understand a word.
You could run instead of CeDesktop.exe a registry editor of your choice (ex. Tascal Registry editor) to switch device into ActiveSync mode ...
Notice: If CE's internal name of SD-card isn't sdmmc you must replace sdmmc with the correct SD-card's name.

Found this:
In order to use the software you will need to copy a file called mut.dll, which you can find in your mio map updater folder in program files. Just make sure you copy the file to the same folder as the 'Mio Transfer Hack.exe' file.
Also make sure that you re-read the instructions.

I downloaded from your link and have like 30 zipped files. 2 of them are mio transfer hacks. Extracted them both and I only get Mio transfer hack application and instructions on french.

I never had to use the Hack so I'll have to rely on you. In program files is there a folder called mio update and is there the file mut.dll in it? Also try doing a Google search for CEdesktop.exe.

I havent got mut.dll anywhere on my pc because i havent got mio map updater folder in program files. I only downloaded zipped files from your link where 2 of them are Mio Transfer Hacks.
EDIT: there is no such folder in program files. I have found CEdesktop.exe and dowloaded it. IDK should it go to my gps device or what.

I believe that mut.dll and the hack must go into the same directory.
