Question about adding POI icons in Primo 2

Postby nabi » Fri Mar 01, 2013 9:03 am

Thanks to ransel for the remedy:

- Open (not extract) your BRANDING.ZIP (using winrar v4.0 or earlier ).
- Go to BRANDING\UI_IGO9\ICONS\POI.
- Open all .icon fileS with notepad.
- Find and replace $poi_mapdistant.bmp with poi_mapdistant.bmp. (without the "$")
- close all.

All of the included POI's show up with the correct icon on the 800x480 screen. The POI's which I have added and my HOME location all show a Greek flag icon, how can I resolve this please? I'm using the diMkaWA skin and Primo 2.

To methods to change the Greek flag icon:
First method:
1) In the root Primo folder, delete the branding.zip file.
2) Delete the save folder
3) Restart Igo.

2nd method:
The poi_mapclose.bmp file in the branding.zip/UI_igo9/800x480 folder has been modified with the Greek flag in it. (The bmp file is an RLE compressed strip image which can only be viewed with iPAQ 31x Image Explorer). Extract the branding.zip with winrar, and view the contents of the extracted folder with iPAQ 31x Image Explorer. Locate the poi_mapclose.bmp and save it as .png file. Using Photoshop, erase/edit the Greek flag with a favorite icon of your choice. Please note, that the space occupied by the Greek flag should be the same of the desired icon. Save the modified strip with .png file format. Using again the iPAQ 31x Image Explorer, view and save your edited poi_mapclose.bmp as the same filename, this time .bmp (RLE) as the file format. Using the winrar, open the original archive (branding.zip) and locate the original poi_mapclose.bmp file. Delete it and replace it with the your edited file. Close winrar, and save all igo entireties to your sd card. Done.
