OK, so far so good. I've the latest 2011 Q4 Primo USA & Canada Maps, POI and basic Dem. I'd especially like to thank YT for his invaluable feedback and guidance!
Now my question:
Is there available (in existence, any where) Premium DEM and Buildings files for USA & Canada for Primo 2.0? YT suggested that older Bldg files my possibly work (they didn't for me), but I imagine now he probably wasn't referring to files as aged as those I have on a version of 8.x. If there are Primo 1.X Bldg files that will work with 2.0 can someone link me to those please? Also, any premium USA & Canada DEM files for Primo 2.0 are most welcome too!
But, if they don't exist (yet), can someone let me know that as well. Thanks

Building files are building files and DEM files are DEM files. Period. DEM (landscape) don't change much. Mountains will be mountains will stay where they are. While oceans ... you get the picture.
Buildings are about the same scenario. Newer files may include more buildings in a (major) city and/or buildings in cities that weren't present before. That is it.
Building files do work in every iGO or Primo. When you don't see buildings in your city, then the file doesn't include them. Not every city or town is included. When you want to see buildings on your screen, virtually visit something major, like New York, Washington, Montreal, ... However, I do not know where exactly on that side of that fish pond buildings are included in the 3dc files.

With your reply. I thought to go back to the folder on Primo 2.0 that I created for the buildings files to see if they are indeed the same .3dc files I originally copied from my version of 8.x. They are definitely there and the same files, and they operate beautifully on iGo 8.3xxx. using the same 16gb sd card. So, what is my problem?

Aha! Could it be I've labeled the file BUILDINGS instead BUILDING? Duuhhhh!!!! I'll change it to see if that helps.

Thanks for your input!

If you're talking iGO 8.0, they are not available anymore. Program too old.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

And what are the latest maps? I hawe iGO PC that runs 8.0 maps. I had PC version 8.3 but that version I could'ne run with igozoomer in full screen mode and autodetecting GPS didn't work. I tried to find iGO PC 8.3 that runs with igozoomer but could'nt find.

One more question about primo. Is it possible to make it run on PC? I would like to run primo truck on PC so that is why I'm asking.

iGo 8 was basically left to die on the vine in...what was it...2007? 2008?..I don't remember...in favor of newer releases and development. New files, file types, etc. So the chances of finding any maps newer than when the program was abandoned are slim. Or none. All newer maps require iGo 8.3x or Amigo, or Primo.
There are versions of iGo 8.3.1 for pc (Here? --:link:), but I don't know anything about compatibility with "igozoomer". Perhaps that was abandoned also.
There are releases of Primo for pc, but none I have found would be considered reliable (they all work through WinCE emulation), and they definitely will not run full screen on a PC.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

8.0 was abandonned in 2009 after being released in 2008, 8.3 came shortly later, but also in 2008.
The PC version was only a Demo for some exhibition and was never intended to be released. They did not know some people were around that would play a bit with it;)

I using IGO8 but do not have Malaysia Map.
Under the Map folder; there are other Asia Maps with .fbl extension.

Can I have the link for the Malaysia map so that I can copy it into the Map folder.
Will it work?

Thank You.

See post/reply directly above yours.
Yes. As long as you have iGo 8.3 or higher.
