Running DEM files on Chinese GPS 7 inch 800x480 128MB

Postby reilabrador » Sat Aug 17, 2013 11:43 am

Hello,
I have a chinese GPS 5 inch, 800x480, 64MB, 600mhz, WinCE 6.0, and various problems with the lack of memory in IGO 8.3.5.
Using the mortscript that kills all processes YFLoader to free memory and changing the resolution to 480x272, the IGO works well.
But when I load the demographic maps (.dem files) or add speedcam file, this is not possible because it does not have enough memory.
I would like to known if the GPS 7 inch, 800x480, 128MB, 600mhz, WinCE 6.0, will have the same problem with .dem files?
Thanks for help.

iGO 8 should run nicely on a 64MB device, even with dem files, but an 800x480 screen will use quite a bit of memory, as there isn't separate video ram, and even though you've reduced the screen resolution I expect it doesn't reduce the memory usage.
So this looks like a device specific issue.
With 128MB you will be able to run Primo 2 with all the extras.

Just keep the files to a small amount.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.
