iGO primo 2.0+ had problems on some pda's with the GPS constantly disconnecting, there was a fix posted but it didn't work on every device (including my Omnia 2)

I'll dig it out anyway...

EDIT: http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?9656-iGo-Primo-2.0-Build-9.6.5.211211-(Dec-07-2011)-Torrent-TBM

Scroll down to primo signal fix!

Fatboyfun

I have the disconnect problem on my Diamond 2 so thought I'd try this fix.

However when I add the files and alter the sys I get an 'Out of Memory' error when I start Primo.

Was this what you experienced when you refer to the fix not working on your PDA's?

As far as I can remember it didn't make any difference.

Ok - thanks Fatboyfun.

If anyone else has any experience of my error I'd appreciate hearing.

When you say "add files" are you referring to contents? Too much contents when a program is being started can produce memory errors. Suggestions can be: delete the dem files, delete the building files, reduce or delete the speedcams, reduce the map area, reduce the POI area, delete TTS.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!

It's been a while since I used windows mobile for navigation, but the only version of primo I could get working reliably was primo 1.1.

I am referring to the included files which are part of the 'Signal Fix' downloaded from the link kindly provided by Fatboyfun in post 2 above.

Strange thing is that this morning Primo started once normally - with no changes made to the system at all, then hung up. When I restarted it the memory error was back.

Most memory problems occur because too much content is trying to load when the program is starting. Suggestions: delete the dem files, delete the building files, delete or reduce the speedcams area, reduce the number of maps and POIs. I'm guessing here but it's possible that your device is near the memory limit when you first start and an additional demand causes a crash.

Thanks Chas521.

I stripped it back to bare bones and still had a problem.
When it is launched, Primo gets to the default menu as expected, but as soon as I tap 'Show Map' or 'Find' or 'My Route' or 'More...' I get a memory error and the program shuts down.
When it shuts down I get a Microsoft error 'with Device.exe'

Maybe I'm flogging a dead horse here

As I said earlier, only primo 1.1 worked reliably enough to be used all day, every day.
1.2 and above gave errors, occasionally it worked, but mostly it didn't.

Windows mobile sits on top of windows ce 4.2 or ce 5, it does things differently and primo expects things to be done the windows ce way.

Thanks yet again Fatboyfun.

I have a copy of V1.1, but it does not have a skin that works with my phone.
I've searched for a 800*480 skin for V.1 but all the links I have found are so old the links are dead.

Any ideas where I can get one to suit.

Thanks

Thanks Chas521
That's the one I have - but the included skin gives an error on my HTC saying user resolution 480*800 not supported and no compatible skin can be found.

I also downloaded the Multi-resolution data.zip but didn't understand what it was.

EDIT:
Silly Me:
I figured it out and have now got V1.1 setup.
I will test on the road in the next day or two and see if the GPS connection works.

Thanks Guys.
