Scheme issue

Postby nabilone » Wed Nov 09, 2011 12:52 am

Hi,
All my settings ( voice, language, fav., car, etc...) are well saved exept schemes (day and night). Each time I reboot Primo, it starts with default schemes.
any idea?

None at all. :scratch_one-s_head_
Rename the save folder so that you need to do all settings again on startup. See if that helps. But honestly, I am guessing here.

Aside from something in sys.txt that may be forcing a default scheme (possible?), I have read that some earlier versions of Primo (before 1.2) had some 'save' issues with schemes...particularly in combination with some skins.
so.......
1) What build of Primo?
2) Are you using any skin(s), and if so, what edition?
3) What schemes are you trying to use...built in choices, or 3rd party? It is also possible that one or more schemes could be corrupted in some way.

Like Nabi, these are all guesses since I, personally, have not experienced this issue...just read about it somewhere a while ago.

Has anything slipped into the sys.ini located in the save folder? Look further into the save folder.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!

I did not expect to find anything in the sys.txt ;)
If you use any other Primo, the problem persists? When not, keep that (working) Primo but replace the save folder with the "dirty" one and try again.

That was going to be my next suggestion also.
Back up the entire Primo setup you are currently using, then download and replace it with this one (which I am absolutely sure saves all settings including schemes):
http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?6952-Primo-1.2-Build-9.2.0.192885-May-20-2011

Do not edit sys.txt or anything...just copy your maps, etc to it and run it. A new Save folder will be created. Change the theme, exit and restart. If the theme you chose sticks, then something was wrong in your current Primo...could have been anything from a data.zip error to some other conflict.
If the theme STILL won't stick, something with your device is peculiar.

Schemes saves in the save/sys.ini thingy.

Also when you turn off iGO or Primo to make it :save: its best to do it from the application not the gps or 2 din ign off button.
Once its saved ill will be ok. (should be :dance_mini:)

Ok,

I tried everything mentionned above and still have the problem.
I spent to much time trying to find a solution for this little problem. So, I stop searching.

Btw, Thank to all of you for your Help.

As you know, I have a Mio C320 that is very easy to modify and add things. But a strange thing happened when I added Garmin Mobile XT to it. It wouldn't save all the settings. It saved almost all but the volume level kept returning to 80% even though I kept changing it to 100%. Then all of a sudden, by itself, it started saving the volume level also. Why? I don't know. All I can say is that technological devices can do strange things sometimes. Who knows? Yours might do the same thing and start saving all again.

Its very important that you 'exit' from within the program the 1st time to ensure it saves changes. That seems to apply to a lot of applications prob like Chas garmin issue as well.

Hi Bazzle,

As I said, I tried everything mentionned above, included your method (saving by exiting Primo before turning off the unit).

What you say makes good sense about exiting directly from a program. Just want to say that I exited each time directly from Garmin and still I had the problem. But somehow it corrected itself later on.
