School Zone Times and distances question

School Zone Times and distances question

Postby jimjones666 » Thu Mar 14, 2013 7:51 am

My Device: 7” in car 2 din with WinCE6
Sat. Nav.: iGo-Primo 2.4-9.6.13 Complete Torrent (November 2012)

Is there a way to set the school zones alert to certain times of the day? I want to set the school zones up so they only alert me between 8am – 9.30am and 2.30pm – 4pm.
I also would like to change the warning distance before a school zone as it does it far too early.
These things I thought would be options in the settings as they are important, I wonder why iGO didn’t put them in. Do any of the other programs do this better? Eg. TomTom.
Any help would be appreciated.

Answered in the other thread, I'll merge these in a bit...

On Win CE, forget TomTom.

So I guess iGO would be the best for my situation.
I use the music player on it which is good but there is no option as to which drive to read USB, SD, Local so it brings up all of them, this is annoying. It is also kind of slow to list the music when it scans device. Unfortunately the standard music player (firmware) on my cars unit won’t even sort the music into playlists, so I am still searching for a way to change it. iGO is good but there are still some flaws with it.

Re: School Zone Times and distances question

I know this is a old thread but I was never able to find out how to set the school zones alert to certain times of the day, has anyone else been able to do this? I am also not sure what thread this was mentioned on as suggested in the first reply.

I did see a suggestion that adding this to the sys.txt may help-

[speedcam_category:9]
warning_time_intervals_aus="Mo-Fr|8:00-9:30,Mo-Fr|14:30-16:00"
warning_time_intervals_act="Mo-Fr|8:00-16:00"
warning_time_intervals_ans="Mo-Fr|8:00-9:30,Mo-Fr|14:30-16:00"
warning_time_intervals_ant="Mo-Fr|7:00-17:00"
warning_time_intervals_aql="Mo-Fr|7:00-9:00,Mo-Fr|14:00-16:00"
warning_time_intervals_asa="Mo-Fr|0:00-24:00"
warning_time_intervals_ata="Mo-Fr|8:00-9:30,Mo-Fr|14:30-16:00"
warning_time_intervals_avi="Mo-Fr|8:00-9:30,Mo-Fr|14:30-16:00"
warning_time_intervals_awa="Mo-Fr|7:30-9:00,Mo-Fr|14:30-16:00"

warning_time_intervals_nzl="Mo-Fr|8:00-10:00,Mo-Fr|14:00-16:00"
warning_time_intervals_nzn="Mo-Fr|8:00-10:00,Mo-Fr|14:00-16:00"
warning_time_intervals_nzs="Mo-Fr|8:00-10:00,Mo-Fr|14:00-16:00"

warning_time_interval_adjust=2

What I am trying to do is get a warning before I come to a school zone and maybe a warning every 30 seconds when I am in the school zone. But only when the school zone is active.
The 30 seconds is because some of the school zones I have been in have traffic lights in them and by the time you take off you can forget you are in a school zone.

Any help would be appreciated
