Sound problem with iGO8 for WinCE 5

Postby zander » Sun May 23, 2010 7:53 pm

I have a 2din 800x480 chinese player for my VW Golf. I've got iGO8 to run but after 10-15 minutes of driving the music stops (radio, cd, SD and so..) And I have to press my source-button and start the radio or cd again.

Is there anything that could be wrong in the sys.txt or something else? Plz Help =)

First of all, how old is your unit? Is it still under warranty? To me, it sounds like a device problem. If it plays then stops then it seems to be something internal and not the program itself. I would recommend that you contact the manufacturer.

It's possible that your iGO download got broken somehow in its journey. I would try another download and installation and see how that goes.

Now I've tried with your version and I got the same problem after around 20-25 minutes of driving.. So strange! Yesterday I drive with PolNav 6 for one hour with no problem.. So there is something with iGO8. Do you think there can be something with the GPS Baud rate? Because I used 4800 on port 2 and got the problem.. And then I changed to 56000 (something like that?) and then the music stoped but I still got GPS-signal.. After this change I haven't got time to test it for 20-25 minutes but I will later..

Zander that problem i doubt is related to igo8, it's more related with low class chinese gps devices, probably some bug with them firmware, another possible reason is low memory, cause that device mos of them has 64mb RAM, and listening music while you use igo8 needs more RAM memory, that's problem for most of chinese gps devices! If you want solid chinese gps device, you should buy one with 128 mb ram.

If you doubt is problem with gps port and baudrate, go to settings of igo8, and choose to find gps port and baudrate automatically..

Thanks! I think you might have right with that.. Becauase my player onlyhas 64 mb ram.. But I will test with the baudrates..

If that dosen't work I have to use Polnav 6, TomTom 6 or iGo without music =)
