No sound problem with Primo 2

Postby pavone » Sun Jan 27, 2013 3:19 pm

Hi to all,
i have a 2 DIN MACROM M-dvd5562r ARM processor 128MB ram 800x480 WINCE6 with micro SD running
iGO Primo 1.1 8.5.11 168090. I downloaded Primo 2.0 from different sites,and all of them are running except the audio, practically the navigation is mute. ( I tested Primo 2.4 and the result is the same). Everytime before using the software in the autoradio i try it with WINCE6 simulator and i can hear the voice without any problem. What i have understood the problem is the lua format of the voices of Primo 1.2 and 2.0, infact in sys.txt is necessary the string csv_voice_enabled=1, that is not present in Primo 1.1. There is a hardware incompatibility? If so, could be bypassed with a modification of DATA.zip or a string in sys.txt?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance for any reply.

Yes, if I understand your post correctly. Add this entry to your sys.txt:

[sound]
csv_voice_enabled=1
If it ain't broke don't fix it!

look at your old sys.txt file (in primo 1.1), do you find any name to your device, it should be like this:

[device]
type="xxxxxxxxxx"

Now, open your old data.zip, config, devices (open it with winrar) you will find a file named (DVD5562.ini),

in the same time open your new data.zip, config, devices and within winrar drag and drop that file from your old data.zip to your new one and save the file. try it now and tell us the result.

note that all operations above must be done within winrar, do not extract any file.

In Primo 1.1 and my original data.zip in the folder devices there is only the file !aliases.ini in which my device is not mentioned. I think that is a standard data.zip.
It's becoming a war between me and iGO Primo 2!!!

Bye

Before trying with my original sys.txt, i used all the other sys.txt in which my device is not mentioned without success. Just for your information after deleting the folder save, the program starts, i select the language, then select the voice, here by clicking on the chosen voice in order to hear the preview, practically i hear nothing, then after completing all the option i can use the navigator but is mute.

What happens if you tried this? Download and install ONLY YT's 2.4. http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?12043-iGo-Primo-2.4-9.6.13-Complete-Torrent&p=99106#post99106 Do not modify the sys.txt at all. You may have tried this already but I thought I would throw it out anyway. What happens if you try my iGO8 program http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?6880-Igo8-March-16-2011 Do not modify the sys.txt except for your resolution and device specific [if necessary]. Same muting problem?

I tried your Primo 2.4 still MUTE!! One question: why have i to try your version 8.3 since i have Primo 1.1 running well? I don't understand why my device refuses to play voice with lua extension.
I think that i must give up to run Primo 2.
Anyway thanks for your help.

Because my iGO8 uses Loquendo voices. It's a different format from Primo LUA. By checking the different program formats, it's only a way of narrowing down where the problem might exist.

EDIT: Even though you appear to know what you're doing, it's also a possibility that you did something incorrectly in setting up YT's 2.4. It works perfectly on my Mio C320 and hundreds of others.

FYI, this is how I set up my 2.4. It may not be as intended but it works and that's all I care about. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
