Speed Cameras not Visible on Screen

Thu Sep 13, 2012 7:42 am

Using iGO Primo V9.6.5.245577 on Chinese PNA 4.3"
Using diMka WA P.1.5.3 skin
Speed cameras are not visible on map screen. 3 files in speedcam folder. speedcam.spdb 502KB speedcam.txt 469KB and SpeedcamUpdates.spud 1KB. On First Startup said yes to the "Disclaimer" Set up all the information in the alerts menu for Visual and Audio, got GPS signal but no visible cameras on screen when driving normally or with plotted route. Even when zooming or panning all other poi"s are visible. Tried the Default Skin but same result.

1) Are you sure you have the correct speedcam.txt for your area? If so, start over and delete everything in the speedcam folder except the TXT file. Restart Primo, and let it build the new database.
2) Speedcams may not show (or warn) in simulation..only in real driving with satellite lock.
3) Is it possible that you have just not encountered an area yet that actually has speedcams depending on the TXT file used?

Wow, you are really on the ball. I did suspect that there was something wrong with the .txt file as it was 496KB and all the other versions that I have used for South Africa are only 69KB. I can now see the police cars (because of the skin) positioned at the correct places when browsing the map and also appear in simulation mode but obviously will not warn me until I have gps lock. Strange because i coppied the maps and poi"s and the speedcams off someones car system so they probably are not getting the speedcam warnings.
Appreciate the help

Yes, 496k is a bit large for an individual smaller country. Great Britain, all of America, or an entire continent like Europe can be that large, but by country usually much smaller.
Glad you got it sorted out.

PS. Copying speedcam files (except the original base TXT file) from another system sometimes may not work. Better to let your iGo version build it's own SPBD file from the TXT file.
