Speedcam files other than txt

Sat Feb 16, 2013 12:43 pm

Unfortunately I do not know how to use speedcam files which are not .txt. Looking for example at http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?12282-SCDB-Europe-15-Feb-2013 , could somebody help me understand what is each file and how I should use them. Just throw all of them in the speedcam folder?

Personally i don't know what those files mean.I've looked at those uploads before and not been too sure, too many entries not relevant to me. I won't update the cams too often as they don't change that quickly(mine is from Q4 2012),there seems to be a new update every week,IMO pointless updating that often.Try this link: http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?12044-speedcam-SCDB-Europe-14-Jan-2013 ,there will be little different in this database to the link in your post, and will go straight into folder.

That's what I currently have. My first priority is to have a functional GPS. But I am also curious about those files.

.spc is a converted Primo speedcam file, .spe and are .stxt too (I think - the truth is I never heard of those extensions)
These files should work without any problem in Primo and recent Becker(Primo) releases. Just put them in the (empty) content/speedcam folder. These work for me in Primo2.0 and Becker.

.spdb and spud are converted (by iGO8) speedcam.txt files.

Now this is strange :
When I put the .txt file from my post (http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?12044-speedcam-SCDB-Europe-14-Jan-2013) in an empty speedcam folder, spdb and .spud files are created by iGO8.3 and speedcams then show in the map screen.
But when I put the files from Jack in an empty speedcam folder, that should work in iGO8.3, but doesn't show any speedcams
By the way, both the .spdb and spud should go in the speedcam folder together.

The 'format' for *.spdb and *.spud changed slightly between iGo8 and more recent versions of Primo. New/different camera numbers, etc.
So it depends what compiled the spdb and spud files...if it was a Primo derivative, they may only work in a version of Primo. And vice-versa if they were compiled with an iGo8 process.
When in doubt, always safe to use a *.txt file and let either iGo or Primo create it's own compiled files from that.

I knew that, but did not realize that would be the cause.
By default, I always use iGO to convert speedcam files and those converted files do work in Primo2.0 and Becker. I did not notice any wrong cams. (yet)

I think I was probably wrong with the vice-versa....the compiled files will probably work in Primo, but it may be missing a couple of the newer camera categories (maybe ignored by iGo8??), and a couple of the categories might be swapped...for instance, a Static camera instead of a Mobile <<<<<---just an example!, etc. You would still get a warning, but the category might be wrong (which hardly matters, really except for the triggered TTS alert). I used to know exactly which category numbers were swapped, but I have forgotten.

Hi all,

Personally (WINCE and ANDROID)
I use the base xxx.spc for european countries except France.
I use a file xxx.txt for France.

The two files at the same time in the speedcam file.
