Speedcam icons in MPH

Speedcam icons in MPH

Postby huggy » Sun Jan 08, 2012 12:02 pm

Hi all,
couple of issues
1-
On my primo v1.2 ( on a no name wince 6, 128mb ram satnav) i added a mobile speed camera through the report alert point. The problem is that when I pass this mobile camera point the icon on my screen shows the speed as kph instead of mph. all my other speedcam icons show as mph.
How can I change this to show only MPH icon
2-
similar issue with primo v2. When approaching any speedcam the icon on screen is in KPH instead of MPH. Can this be easily changed

thanks

What are your "Regional Settings" set to as far as distance measurements?
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

OK, well then it may come down to the speedcam database you are using OR the mapset you are using. I know there were MPH/KPH issues with some UK maps in the past. Navteq in particular, if I remember correctly. I don't know if these issues were fixed in the latest releases for the UK (if that's where you are) and perhaps other areas. Are you in an area where both types of measurements are used...even occasionally?

Oh, also...are you using a Skin (other than what came with Primo) of any kind?

I am in the UK and I remember there was a problem with ver 1.1 in the UK and I resolved it then by installing v1.2.

Not using a skin at the moment but will give them a try

If that fails I will try teleatlas map to see if that fixes the problem.

Thanks

Personally, I would try that first. A skin, or any other changes to the program, may introduce additional variables that would make it harder to track down the cause.

OR try the latest Navteq maps if you don't already have them:

There is an issue with the dimka skin and speedcams in the uk where a 30mph camera is displayed as 29mph and 50mph is 48mph and so on, I will get round to looking at it one day, probably just an error in calculation somewhere...

tried the teleatlas map on primo v1.2, still the same problem. All speedcam icons show correct speed limit (ie 70, 50 etc) but the one speedcam that I added shows the iconwith speed limit of 112 instead of 70.
In a way I am glad as teleatlas maps not as good as navteq.

Will try using a skin with navteq map and see if that fixes it. Will let you know

Tried a couple of skins, Still get the speedcam icon that I added showing 112(kph) instead of 70(mph). All other speedcam icons show mph. Think I will just have to live with it for now. The main thing is it warns me of the speedcam in the area

Try adding another one (anywhere) and see what you get. If it shows correctly, delete your first one and replace it with a new one.
To quickly get rid of any speedcams you have added manually, in the content/speedcam folder, delete the file "SpeedcamUpdates.spud". On the next restart, a new empty file will be created.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.
